I'm glad Freo didn't get him he'll be 29 next year, looks like we are doing a rebuild doubt he would be there at the next finals tilt, rather persevere with Alex Pearce.

I think he would have been quite handy but 5 years was too much. Not sure we can pick up a ready made big forward/back now. It's going to take a lot of persistance and money to reach that end. I'm sure the club will do all they can.

You can always build a backline but natural forwards who can take a grab and slot them through the sticks are harder to find. That frees up 800k plus to throw at Hogan and 500k a season for McCartney.
