They would be pushing shit up hill without him in the mid field.

Nothing surer than Fyfe ending up at CHF in the near future, at least for sections of games.

With the Fyffe idea. The reason Freo have won many games this year is he has dragged em over the line form his mid field role. Now plonk him a CHF, and who gets the ball to him??

Getting the ball forward hasn't been the entire problem, having someone who can create opportunities has been. He will get plenty of the ball and Lyon would be aware of that. He will be there soon.

Exactly unka...games are won and lost in the midfield...not up forward. Take Fyfe out of the mids and he would be left standing in the front half with nothing to do. You can define his role a bit better as an attacking mid who only operates forward of the centre square or have him as a high half forward who runs through the middle but to plonk him at CHF is taking away your most effective weapon from the heat of the contest.

mate...we're winning the inside 50 count because of Fyfe to a large extent. if it's in our 50 then only one team can score. get it in their and let the offensive side of our game take care of itself. lose possession in the middle and you can have the best forward structure in the history of footy and it won't make any difference because the game will be played in our back half.

spot on , Fyfe;s contributions all over the ground when he is moblle are enormous, you lose count of the number of packs he breaks through and telling marks he takes through the guts on the wings and even on the HB line, I mean he keeps the show on the road, him sitting in the forward line would be a waste and quite franly a victory for most opposotions.

I hear Lyon reckons he is chucking Ballantyne in the center this week to try and get him back in the game, rather than shifting the biggest gun you have to fill holes how about telling Ballantyne to pull his friggen finger out and lift, at the end of the season it s serious time to think about trading Btyne while he is still worth something, meanwhile his stocks are falling rapidly.

If a side has one player that is supposed to fix a problem for an entire team, then the problems are bigger than they think.

Fremantle's problem isn't where to move Fyfe. Its getting the forwards that are getting paid big salaries to start doing their job. It cant come down to moving one player from the midfield to the forward line surely? That is just ludicrous. To say Fremantle don't have forwards is insane. They have Pavlich, Mayne, Ballantyne, Walters etc etc who are all proven forwards. They are not playing that well at the moment, but talk of moving the best midfielder in the AFL, into the forward line to help these guys is just plugging up a hole and exposing a bigger one elsewhere.

Its a panic solution, not an actual solution.

They were kicking plenty of goals early in the season with the same set up they have now. What is missing is the fanatical tackling and gut busting runs from defence which in turn puts pressure on the opposition defence, creating more space for the forwards. This is an attitudinal and work rate issue and it can be addressed by the coaching staff.

A-Man: I rate Walters highly, he is a player sides have to clamp down on. If clubs shut him down, then it hurts the dockers. I think Ballantyne is completely out of form. To me he gets himself way to highly strung and can go into every contest like its his last. That's not a bad thing, but he has to be smart about it, otherwise he isn't effective. I have concerns with Pavlich but you cant right off a great player like him. He may have some injury issues, who knows. Lets get some perspective here, Freo are 12-2 and hardly a time for panic. They have leverage and may need a certain game to get something going. No better time than this week against an injury depleted Carlton side. This is a chance to get some confidence back I think. Forget the Hawks game now, freo got totally outgunned everywhere on the day. These things happen. There is still time if they are good enough, and if injuries don't creep in. I always say a sides chances come down to the health of the list.

It is alright to move the thug forward fella, but he still has to be able to kick it between the big sticks. If he had not of choked in a game in 2013 in the first Quater you might of well had your elusive CUP. If I recall he had at least 4 shots in that Quater and did not nail one. You probably should consider moving him to the goal square for a better chance of converting.
Will he make the last games without another offense? :woohoo:
