I don't think the figures you are quoting for Frawley are quite that high.Though I do know the Freo offer is bigger than Geelongs.
Time will tell.

That was for both players Anchorman. Waite has been said to be around $250-300K thus putting Frawley at around $550-600K. Geelong's offer was $500K a year for 5 years. It was said that for Frawley to come to Fremantle he would want a 7-year deal and if the offer like you say is more than Geelong's I would put that at around $550-600K maybe more a year.

I cant believe Freo have offered him 600k a year over 5 years. what the actual fuck...?
He would not be in the top 10 key backmen in the league, perhaps not even in the top 15.

When you think that the AFL are going to rape the two West Australian clubs of revenue under the guise of "equalisation" because they are financially successful football clubs, it is mind boggling how the travel factor is ignored by the AFL. Goes to show our two AFL clubs are just pawns in the game to meet the needs of the eastern states clubs.

Its not about raping any state or club necessarily, its about making the most money for "THE BUSINESS", only reason the keep Pies in Melb is cos they ( AFL ) make more money, its that simple.

Well unless Fremantle pull a rabbit out of the hat it looks like we miss out once again in trade week when it comes to securing a KPP. No doubt this is the reason why Luke McPharlin looks like playing on. Let's hope we draft some gems.

The travel is obviously the problem. All teams should travel equally, not sure how they would do it, maybe Freo and Eagles, at times, both play here, Sat and Sunday or whatever. If a bloke like Frawley knocks back more money to stay on the East Coast then it is for a reason, maybe family, maybe life style, who knows? Can't see too many trades coming to Perth at the moment.

Maybe that's all about perception DW.I have found that most Victorians love Perth and WA.
But I think the lack of key players coming here has more to do with the fortnightly travel as much as anything.

Love Perth and would nevergo back, most Vics love WA i have found. I think its family and the travel every 2 weeks, surely must cut a couple of years off ya carer?

Agree, think they get sunstroke the moment they hit the tarmac and lose perception...probably could have worded that statement better...more like love it but wouldn't wanna live here...reckon it's too quiet....find it hard to argue with my mates re that coz honestly if I had to leave Perth, Melbourne is the other aussie city I'd choose to live in. As for the footy argument, distance from family and mates can not be underestimated. I think travel would come secondary to that. Probably a bias against interstate clubs exists too for players born and raised in Melbourne. The Vics still think this is their comp they let the rest play in, just ask em. Another generation or 2 should see that pass.
