Joel Westen 174 cm 70kg.

Hardly dominates the WAFL yet we have to watch him play AFL

If he got BOG 5 weeks in a row in the WAFL and if he was 5-10kg more we could maybe have a look at him and his sort.

I have lost faith in Longmuire - I cannot see how any AFL coach could play such a player.

We as the paying public should not be subjected to it.

None of this future prospect crap. AFL is a mans game.

 

What ever happened to that anchorman clown?

They're getting experience into the young players TFAF. If you haven't already seen our injury list is long. The kids have to start somewhere. Western while young, has shown glimpses that he might be a handy player in the years to come.

Yeah but my point is AFL that we shouldn’t have to watch kids get experience. We should be watching men play AFL and 70 kilo kids play 2nd tier comps. If they dominate and I mean dominate the second tier then we can have a look at them. 

I don’t so much mind his height but his weight combined with his height is simply not AFL standard 

They may not have a choice at the moment TFAF. Many of their first choice senior players are on the injured list and Rhys Conca who would have certainly got a game yesterday has opted out of the AFL bubble and played for Peel on Saturday.
I saw Fremantle live for the first time this season and from that viewing they looked like they hadn't made much progress from the latter years of Ross Lyons tenure. Poor skills and decision making fumbling and risky kicking across the ground. Awful delivery into the forward line making life impossible for the forwards. Maybe it was just a bad day or a very good opposition because the concensus seems to be that they have improved this year. Not enough to win the Western Derby from what I saw yesterday.

WA football teams are invariably awful in the wet weather.
Without seeing much of it I am guessing they tried to over possess the ball especially with needless handballs instead of playing a more territory based game where you just got the ball moving forward your way at all costs be it by soccer, knocking it on etc?

Gents, I am not talking about Freo here. I just used the little fellow as an example.

I am just perplexed that AFL clubs don’t go out and get the best 45 players they can get and instead subject us to clearly outsmarted and outmuscled kids. 

I reckon I would beat 99% of 174cm 70kg kids in a one on one. 

Sure grab the odd smokey (18 year old) but other than that grab the best. 

 

They couldnt even pull 30K to the game either.

We shouldn't be knocking Freo as they're only 5 years into a 3 year rebuild.  

We all know the AFL is a self centred football whorehouse that doesn't care about the welfare of young men and women. It is all about greed to convince kids to choose football over other sports so drafts kids out of school instead of waiting for them to mature into young men. They are worried they will choose basketball or cricket over football so they take them as young as they can. Most young kids don't make it end up lost and had their potential to pursue other careers disrupted in the vital immediate years after finishing high school.
