Falcon a couple of observations:

(i) I think that the flexibility he offers the Dockers he may well be kept on despite his age (I suspect that he is not on a huge salary relative to the cap) and would provide some valuable experience to the younger Dockers.

(ii) From a West Perth perspective, and to be honest West Perth has never been one of my favourite WAFL clubs, it would be very sad if due the alignment he was not able to play for West Perth again. Another reason to hold both WA domiciled AFL clubs and the WAFC in complete and utter contempt.

yes, solid game from Ames as was Hams, Hilda, Geaps and Robbo..
once again though we set up most of our scores from our defence, we struggled on ball even though big Wes probably shaded Kuenen..
really miss Roberts and a decent tagger..

WP's leaders didnt stand up when the game was on the line in the last quarter, too many skill errors & poor decision making cost WP dearly. Too many times WP went sideways instead of going direct into the forward 50 to give our forwards a chance. It was one that definately got away. Well done to SD their leaders stood up well, Ames, Twomey, Hilda, Hams & Geappen were good when it counted.

i wonder whether WP wear themselves out with their game-plan, they seemed to kick short a lot and get a lot of possesions for not a lot of result..that is usually what Swans do - lots of possies for little result..
Swans took till the last qtr to get their running game going and it seemed to open up with easy goals

Looking at the above posts most are correct. You dont have to be a Rocket Scientist to see where we are falling down

Back Line good and keeping us in the game
To Many Handovers at vital stages of the game
Farking around with the ball going sideways when should be going direct.
Going direct is a problem as our Forward line needs to be sorted out and opposition always seems to be able to clear easily!!
Getting inside 50 ok but not putting it on the board to easy for Defenders to clr!
Match plan? What is our match plan?
WP not attacking in numbers leaving the work to 1 or 2 players as one poster said
Have noticed opposition has loose men everywhere which makes it bloody easy no manning up. Maybe one on one would work?
The opposition is allowed to control the game as a result of a lot of targets.
Missing easy goals as can be shown by our points tally
We are a 3 qtr team and rarely play out 4 qtrs.

Players fault NO....Coach must change his match plan.

If we get it together we would challenge any team.

Lets hope we can turn it around v EF this week. Cant see why not if we get it together. If we continue playing as we are EF will bury us :(

Appreciate previous posters input as it brings out a lot of these points so not entirely just my view.

We have a LONG rest as result of State Game and the the Bye before meeting Perth 25 May so it would be nice to go out with a Win this week..A must win

A bit of Trivia for those who might not have a look at Country league.

I see Brent Lecras is kicking a few for Cervantes. (Central Midlands Football league) Maybe another season up fwd for WP would of been handy :) Nah sure he is enjoying himself alongside a few WPFC x team mates.
3 Games so far and 1 loss to Jurien so not all one sided.
If your interested in following this league or any other Country league goto

Click on pic for larger image. Cervantes season stats after 3 rounds.

We really don't look any different than last season, senior players go missing when the game is there to be won, like you said the dreaded sideways kicks that eventually leads to the opposition gaining the ball and kicking into a open forward line for a goal, same old crap, we have all seen it before from West Perth, Swans wanted that game more than us, losing home games is unforgivable...

The worrying thing for me is that our Rezies are holding up the ladder at the moment, our depth is not very good? I am just a frustrated fan searching for answers....

Falcon,

This weeks game v EF will give us a fair indication I reckon, we get Petters back who has been outstanding (Smith 1 goal, Jones 0, Holmes 0, Subi not sure, Mugumbwa maybe 1 goal). In all fairness to your comments, there was a return to the old ways v SD and there is a great opportunity for the boys to put it to bed, EF have lost 2 games at home thus far so we are well within a shout. The boys have a little bit more of an incentive as we were pumped by 100+ last time we met !
