I noticed on the weekend WP are playing with a clean skin. No corporate sponsor on the front or back of jumper. If the management can not lock down a sponsor for that jumper then things must be pretty poor in Garlic land off field any way.

Maybe potential sponsors want to sponsor a club that identifies with their location? The name West Perth bares no relationship to the clubs location which has been home now for how long? 20 years +++?

I know this subject has been gone over again and again and the members oppose it but Joondalup is your home and you will be a lot better off financially when you embrace the name.

The guernsey would certainly look a lot better.
Perhaps the club has dispensed with advertising on the jumper? Which in my view is a good thing. I'd imagine there would be other areas and advertising opportunities to take?

When the show a commitment with a serious and viable offer, we will seriously have a look at it and then tell them to get stuffed !

DD, I would think a club with a strong and successful history even whilst in Joondalup would not even consider doing away with their. I would also point out that Subiaco and East Perth play out of Leederville and that has not appeared to hinder sponsorship opportunities.

So what your saying is Perth should be called Lathlain ?

So what your saying is Perth should be called Lathlain ?

That is totally ridiculous and you know it. EP and Subi have moved a stones throw from their former home grounds and still retain their traditional zones. West Perth have moved 30 minutes north of Leederville and they benefit from the rich northern corridor so the name West Perth no longer represents the zones that feeds them the stars they have today.

Why do you think Footscray now call themselves the Western Bulldogs? They want to represent their base but also Footscray is just not a marketable name. I believe if West Perth called themselves the Joondalup Falcons they would attract much more support from the local community and businesses.

Footscray are Footscray in the VFL.
