Dear Members and Sponsors,
Please be advised that I have tendered my resignation as Chief Executive Officer of
the West Perth Football Club. After eight years working here it’s time to move on
and the board has accepted my resignation. I will finish on the 22nd of March 2013.
This is due to a combination of issues based around work / life balance and
lifestyle issues and I am at a stage of my life where I need to make some changes
and find a less stressful job. I think the club is in good shape and it’s time for
someone else to grab the baton.
I can safely say that being the CEO of this great club is one of the highlights of
my life. What an amazing roller coaster ride culminating in the announcement from
both parties to fund our new facility.
Working for West Perth is a privilege. I would like to express my sincere thanks and
gratitude to Brett Raponi, Richard Homsany and Scott Ballem who were part of the
original Board four years ago who took a chance on me and allowed me to live my
dream.
I look forward to home games relaxing watching the boys play. We have an outstanding
group of players who sacrifice a great deal to represent the club at WAFL level.
I would like to thank all the incredible coaching staff, volunteers and support
staff, who each week give up their time to assist and promote the club. Your
selflessness is what makes us tick. Huge thanks to all our wonderful and loyal
sponsors who put in their hard earned dollars to the club to keep us financially
viable and ticking along. I will miss working with you.
The lifeblood of any club is its members, and West Perth has the most passionate,
decent members in the WAFL. Thank you for your support and encouragement. I hope I
have been able to represent your club with integrity and commitment. The club is
well placed at the moment to develop a great platform for the future, in particular
with the new Falcons Centre of Excellence.
There is an enormous amount of work to do in the next 2 - 3 weeks to prepare for the
season and other events. I hope to see as many people as possible at out Season
Opener and first home game. I will certainly miss the great friendships I have made
over the last eight years.
Finally I would like to acknowledge my wife Cindy and children Ellen, Rachel and
Jack who have given me so much love and support during this time.
