Josh Smith (WP , VFL & WCEEP) one of your ex-players has retired I hear due to chronic ankle problems - an imposing key forward gone to pasture at 29

Yep started with WPFC and had an illustrious career.. Kicked a goal or two :)
Unfortunately ended up with EP.
Certainly a good forward and one of the best in his time.
Sad to hear he can no longer play as he must of loved his Footy.
Thanks for the info Southerner. All the best to him in the future

From Wiki

Josh Smith (born 5 March 1986) is an Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne in the AFL between 2008 and 2010.

Recruited from West Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) with the 62nd selection in the 2007 AFL Draft, Smith made his AFL debut in Round 7 of the 2008 AFL season but only played one more AFL game for the year. He struggled to break into the North Melbourne side over the next two years, only playing five games in 2009 and four in 2010 before he was delisted at the end of the 2010 season.[1] When not playing for North Melbourne, he played for North Ballarat in the Victorian Football League and was a member of their 2008, 2009 and 2010 premiership sides.[2] He was awarded the Norm Goss Medal for being the best player in the 2008 final when he kicked five goals.[3]

In 2011 he returned to Western Australia, but switched to play for East Perth in the WAFL. He was selected to represent WA against Queensland and was awarded the Simpson Medal for the best player from Western Australia in the game.

Heres a video clip with Johnson and Smith 2 guys who I DID respect who are interviewed by Half Time at the Footy.... Gee remember that :(

We meet the Ferals this week but dont consider Smithy one of them even though he had majority of WAFL with THAT club... Bronte must of liked him :)

Very Sad to hear that. Even though I wasn't happy that he went to EP instead of us.
Too young to have to retire. All the best for the future Smithy. Hopefully you might find your way back to Joondalup in some capacity.

Shit thats a bit rough Falcon.. He won the Simpson medal v QLD and three premierships with North Ballarat... :) North who?

In Fairness the was a brilliant forward and kicked a lot of goals.. Ok we got Hutchy but have a look where is he now :( Could be fronting up against us this week.
Lets hope not as played a reasonable game last week first game back from injury
Eagles have big problems and they will need the likes of him back in the side.
