A bit about the WP guys

u18

CLINTON HINCHCLIFFE – Had a terrific 2014 season with the Colts playing 15 matches which saw him finish third in Jack Clarke Medal voting after averaging 23.4 possessions a game and kicking 12 goals. The 18-year-old from Ocean Ridge will now look to transition into senior football in 2015. Jumper 50

Went to the game today and it was a disaster.. Totaly outplayed.
The good news is Clint and Josh had good games on a bad day for WA.

Team is heading East now for more games in the Carnival.
Another game in Perth at the Domain but not sure if it is a curtain raiser to a AFL game. later in Carnival.

All the best to the guys picked in the next few games and sure a lot learnt today.

No match report yet on U18 site... have this tweet from Callum

Callum Twomey ‏@AFL_CalTwomey

A day out for big man Josh Schache, who kicked 8.4 from 24 disp & 7 marks in Vic Country's 105-pt win over WA. He's in top-five draft range.

Most probably a full report tomorrow or the next day on U18 site

Dont know mate.. Re Josh he was in a lot of the play.. Most probably explains why he was so busy? Maybe you should look at the BIG picture and explain why the coach left him on this Player? Why would you do that? Unless he had no other option and Rotham was the only option.. Before we start throwing barbs at a individual player Lets look at the coaches decision to leave him there... ISNT THAT WHAT COACHES ARE FOR

Agree gotta try some new blood.. One thing I have noticed in the Reports from the games I dont see any stats... When you consider Stats would be taken where are they?
I would like to see Antonio from WP in the game as well as he knows where the goals are.
I was surprised a few new faces werent included in the side today? As you say Luke you would of thought would of had a run in WA... They are now heading off withouth giving some of the other players a game? Does this mean they will stick with the same side over east?
I hope not.. as it is only fair that all the players get a run if they are good enough to be picked in the squad and you would of thought that would of been done in the 2 WA games and then the pick of the crop heads East... if you get my drift.

Anyway will be watching the WA guys with interest. I noticed with the report on the WA V SA game which we won they gave big wraps to a SA guy and very little on the WA boys.

In fairness Hinchcliffe would of been sighted by the scouts today but to be honest and you must agree WA players wouldnt of got many ticks today as VC were just so superior. :(

I was listening to the ST Kilda v Brissie game on the way to the above game as was pleased to hear Blake Acres was getting a lot of ball.. Had 20 Disposals on the day.
Having said that was surprised that St Kilda won otw home after Brissy kicked 6 goals in the first qtr.

Just a bit of trivia and interesting

I am a bit pissed off with the FootyBudget who used to have section on Stats of WA origin players playing for VFL clubs. It was quick ready reference to how our x WA players were going. Seems to have disappeared from the Budget like a lot of other things.

From a 2008 Budget..

I remember all of those WA Larke Medal winners ..Grant Campbell from EP always used to wear those knee pads on both knees played at CHF for years at Perth Oval.

Article in todays West re U18 game today (televised tomorrow)

au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/284299...-pedal-to-the-metal/

In part

Draft prospect Callum Ah Chee says WA will put everything on the line against Vic Metro at Domain Stadium today after a disappointing fortnight in the under-18 championships.

A one-point win against South Australia in the opening round of the competition had WA confident they could rebound from a disastrous 2014 campaign.

But the past two weeks have delivered a harsh reality check, courtesy of two mammoth beltings at the hands of Vic Country and South Australia.

Ah Chee said there was sufficient talent in the WA side, but the players needed to concentrate for the entire four quarters. “We’ll start off well in the first quarter, but then in the second quarter we drop off because we kind of coast a bit,” Ah Chee said.

And a tweet from Callum Twomey... covering the game
