I think Joondy supporters have missed the real reason ch7 isn't broadcasting their games. With so many recent incidents of violence and racism by their supporters and staff ch7 just can't risk their G rating.

In 1987 Channel Nine Perth was a support sponsor of the Subiaco Football Club.
The nine dots featured prominently on the players' shorts.

Channel Seven was the commercial TV broadcaster of WAFL that year.
There was no protest over the opposition station's logo appearing in the Seven telecasts.

Incidentally, the current size of the Nine logo appears to be smaller on the West Perth jumpers that it did on the Subi shorts - or is that my aging eyesight?

This information would suggest that a precedent has been set with Ch7 and that Ch9 should feel free to sponsor all clubs except you know who in return for footy short logo advertising in 2016

Yeah well Ch9 are free to do anything except televise games no limits , they can even buy highlight clips from Ch7 and telecast them if they please, full replays too

Probably even do a separate licence deal with WP & the Commish to televise Cardinals games at Joondy if it came down to it

I know this has been raised before but what do you think Channel 7 will do if West Perth make the top 5, will they refuse to televise their finals games as well?. What about if they were to make the GF? Now wouldn't that be a poser for the WAFC

Yeah it's a beauty isn't it mate - personally I don't see how they can get away with not telecasting the Prelim or Grandie

But with the Elimination & Qualifying Finals (and 1st & 2nd Semis) being played on the same day you can see what they'll do in those

What I'd like to see is the other club take the WAFC on legally over lost broadcast rights in say a Prelim or Grandie

The sponsorship is $100,000.00 per year for three years with an option of three more years. The sponsorship started in 2014.
