The attitude of channel 7, the Commission, and, it seems, most of the clubs, is very disappointing; but, unfortunately, disunity amongst the clubs has been with us for over a hundred years; it is the reason that the alignment will be with us for a long time too.

No swan42 I don't think West Perth should have let the sponsorship go at all . But they would have been aware if ch7 had won the rights that they may not be allowed to show an opposition company on any televised game . They where warned before they accepted the sponsor of possible problems . They chose to accept the money , now they have to accept the decision by ch7 , or remove the ch9 logo . But they can hardly act shocked its happened or demand compensation .

Astro the fact that SDFC have only one home match televised and therefor limited opportunity to showcase their sponsors is not the fault of the footy club , its ch7 scheduling of their televised games . However West Perth have chosen to accept ch9 sponsorship and refusing to remove them from the shirts and around the ground signage , so thats their choice and that impacts directly on their other sponsors .

Heaps of channel seven logos on SBS yesterday afternoon.

What would happen if Ch 9 in their sponsorship of West Perth decided to broadcast 4 or 5 of their games on Ch GEM? Especially on the weekends Ch 7 don't broadcast. Ch 7 no doubt have "exclusive rights" but could there be a loop hole. Ch 9 could do a 2 hour advertisement...

Bingo Pjae. It is channel 7s fault. Why dont the WAFC ensure there was more than home game for SDFC?

One other thing Pjae 11.40 game starts...seriously.Accepted if clubs recieving cash like in the AFL but this is not the case

There are a few questions that need to be asked here.

The Commission is there to promote footy in an unbiased way. This is not happening.

Why would you go into as sponsorship when only 17-18 games will be televised?

West Perth played all last season with the Channel 9 logo on there jumpers. This was not an issue for the ABC.

Channel 7 and The West are major sponsors of EP. I think thats a conflict of interest therefore the WAFC should have taken that into account.

The WAFL clubs had to pay for Channel 7 to televise the games, so therefore they have no right to dictate on what sponsors other clubs have.

Unfortunately the Commission has lost the football supporters confidence in them.
