Looks like Joondalup is the pick to host the 2022 WAFL grand final. 

The final decision being made sometime this week apparently.
With Claremont Oval, Lathlain, East Freo oval, The WACA, the centre of excellence not under consideration, along with Bassendean apparently too far away.
Basically only leaves Fremantle and Joondalup remaining. It's said both grounds have approx the same crowd capacity.
Given Fremantle hosted the big day previously, perhaps the Arena will be given the gig this season. If the weather is pleasant on Grand Final day, should be a graet day across there.

You do wonder about certain aspects of holding the GF all the way up at unknowable Joondalup. Like how to actually get there. Maybe there is lots of parking hidden away somewhere. Also there was talk about Freo and Leederville being such great options because they had fab precincts for the punter to enjoy on the big day. I guess Joondalup has a large mall, just a few K's from the ground, to take in the GF day pre and postgame vibe. Ground neutrality is not a problem for the commission obviously nor is the lack of shelter. Fingers crossed we don't have a wet day.

Real shame that we cant have access to a ground that holds more than 15k, apart from Peel, any combination of the other 5 teams in contention at a GF could see 15k++ punters locked out.

The whole bloody discussion of 'where' to hold the grand final. Cannot believe we're even discussing the subject!

Yes it does look more than likely it will be at Joondalup

If it ends up at Joondalup, we can’t complain about not being a neutral venue if WP make it.  2020 was not neutral and Subi lived in non neutral GFs.
If the Sharks make the GF, which looks quite unlikely atm, I’ll go if I can get a ticket.  If not, I won’t bother….although if I do go, I could drop in to my mates place in Geraldton for a barbie after the game!!!

GF day could be a huge day for West Perth.There currently on top of the ladder in the League,Ressies and Colts.
Having a great season at all levels ,apart from Wafl W where there bottom of the ladder.
Going to have a look on Ricks site.Has a Wafl side ever won all 3 grades on GF day.A chance if it's at Joondalup.

I think there might be a bit to be played out with Leederville Oval yet , the decision to suddenly cancel matches there has a bit of smell about it to be honest

It would probably depend on the ground capacity. Correct me if wrong, fairly certain the capacity is less than the other two grounds? Maybe seating will be installed on the outer if Leederville chosen?
Obviously no improvements been done there over the years. Fairly certain the ground comes under the council and the 2 clubs sharing would also shoulder the costing of improvements.
I still think the choice to be between the Arena and Fremantle Oval.
