A nice article in today's Sunday Times about Dave Mundy passing Mel Whinnen's record of most games by a WA domiciled player.  It reminded me of what a champion Whinnen was in his day as well as being a quality person.   Congrats to both David and Mel.

Mel was a class act on and off the field, respected by all. I remember his battles later in his career with a young Peter Featherby, Mel was one of the few who could run with Feathers all day. Subi had the benefit of having Dave Mundy when he first came over, before he became a regular Freo player, played in our 2004 flag team as a CHB, Also a quality bloke on and off the field.
