Disagree Dave Royal a website or bulletin board is only as good as its members and people who want to post. This thread has had the most so far because EP supporters have come out of the cupboard as they usually do. As for WP supporters few and far between posts from them except for a couple.
Maybe it is conducive of the whole WAFL comp now it has been basically destroyed in the form as we know it..

if the alignment was in Monday then more than half the side woulod have been WC e players. Thats my point. EP are no more and was a member for 25 years until this year!
Sad days for a proud footy club.

astro you might as well join one of the g7 we don't need you.we played mostly local juniors on monday including 3 who have so far made their debut this season.don't worry next year most of the g7 clubs with maybe the exception of the tigers and maybe the sharks will be made up with at least half non zone players.some teams are already near that quota already.what is the difference whether it is half eagles or half non zone players.they hate the royals and peel but watch them try to poach players.they are hypocrites they hate the eagles and dockers but still play their players and will take the extra money they have been offered.if they hate the alignment don't play the players and refuse to play east perth and peel.they were not going to even play scratch matches but they did.next year is not going to be easy but i will stay put as i have been thru one alignment and it only lasted two years and i will ride out the storm thru loyalty even tho i don't like what is going to happen.would prefer both teams taking their players out of this comp all together.it is fairest thing for the comp.

Agree with some of your points Chaddy and good points they are but easier said than done mate..An agreement has been made and that is the bottom line at this stage.. The G7 cant veto games and cannot drop AFL players end of story.. I like the idea though..
Lets just enjoy this season which turning out to very very interesting

i agree with you that everyone should enjoy the year.the unfortunate thing is it is all about money.i am sure if all trhe clubs had money and didn't need to depend on the money that the wafc gets from the dockers and eagles we wouldn't be in this position.after all who has the license and who allowed the clubs in the first place.the day that the eagles joined a frankenstein was unleashed which has got out of control.

I will kick things off with "front runner", you blokes have no hand on this site and in football in general. You don't post unless you win (or beat WP) and you are the laughing stock of the competition, even Turner had a sook the other night !

Leedy

That is not quite true, I post regularly and get shot for it all the time, be fair!

Grump,

I was going to make mention about yourself being a regular but you know that your in the minority and that we enjoy your posts. Its the others that pop up out of nowhere to take the p#iss and expect normal interaction.

The club you supported (note the tense) no longer exists. It has sold out to the Eagles and no amount of rationalising will make it different. A very salient point however is to have a look at the VFL and see which clubs, if any, have thrived or survived in an host club alignment. You can delude yourself as much as you like; but the sad fact for you is that whatever the Eagles want to do with the players at the club formerly known as East Perth they will do it. That means that a long time and committed 'East Perth' player will be dropped to the ressies to make way for an 'Eagles' player of lesse ability and/or experience. That means that if they want to play a player at full back and has had 10 goals kicked against int he first half he won't be moved.

*YAWN*

I've feel I've posted a few fair things in the past, perhaps not.

But with the continued diatribe as such above as response to anything why would anyone bother coming here? I come here and read occasionally but am less and less inclined to participate.

EP had a good win on the weekend in an engaging game of football. A majority of the posts on here following that refer to EP as being scum etc and not talking about the game itself. So again , why would I bother?

Its true that generally supporters of 7 out of 9 WAFL clubs would find favour in that attitude so I guess there's plenty of supporters to enjoy the balanced and rational football discussion being brought to this website.

Sadly the owners of this website got off to a poor start by labelling the EP and Peel forums after their AFL alignments for next season. Ha ha! Humerous. So funny in fact lets do it again when we play Swans Districts eh? No surprise that thread got deleted.

I guess a website can only be as balanced and fair as the people running it.

Are you talking 'fair and balanced' Fox News style? I sincerely hope not. However, if you seriously think that 'East Perth' has the same autonomy now as it had before its alignment, you are seriously mistaken. If you think that your juniors will have the same opportunities to play league football as previously again you are mistaken.

If the reports are true that West Coast Eagles are looking at a redevelopment at Lathlain Park Oval, it would follow as a natural progression that it would be illogical for them to continue an alignment with East Perth. If that came to fruition, where do you think that would leave East Perth?

Chaddy22 - Swans and Souths were the only clubs which voted against the Eagles joining the VFL. I happened to be looking at Swans' Annual Report of 2007 last night. It had the attendance figures for the previous 20 odd years. The attendance figures, for Swans' matches, in 1986 was virtually double what we had in 1987 (the first year of the Eagles). The same applied for 1994 and 1995 (the first year of the Dockers). I hasten to add that in 1986 we finished last so the 1986 figure was lower as a consequence.

Personally I would like all the clubs to refuse to play the clubs formerly known as East Perth and the Dockers next year. Unfortunately, that is not likely to happen. Secondly, it is unreasonable in the extreme to suggest that the WAFL clubs should not take the compensation; even though that compensation is patently not enough.

A post in this topic made mention about how there is a great number of non-local players playing in WAFL teams these days. From a Swans' perspective we have had a number of players drafted from Swans, we have had 3 local junior clubs, including one of the biggest - Ellenbrook, removed from our zone and thirdly, our entire South West country zone is made up of three teams located around Bunbury. Finally, when we recruited the likes of Robinson and Twomey we had finished last or near last in all three grades so we were significantly lacking in players.
