Any thoughts by other WP supporters about the scratchy v Perth ?

We seem to be trying players in unfamiliar roles and our sills via foot were well down. I didn't see any evidence we were implementing a faster more direct brand of footy until the last qtr, quite the opposite in fact with 2 or 3 of their goals coming from miss kicks in the defensive 50. In the last qtr we went down the middle and kicked into space where we finally started to open them up, we also seemed to be running harder late which is a good sign. Lot to like about us though, Moulton was excellent, Black and Nelson got better as the game went on and young Medhat was a good focal point with 2 or 3 goals and a few good contested marks. We will be more stable and taller down back with Kingy and Hammo back, we also will have Todesco back to add some grunt to the mids. Pegoraro surprisingly played in the Dags in the 2nd half and did some good things, if he gets right it will give us more flexibility.

Blackie in the first quarter threw himself all over the place around the forward line. Patterson and Delaporte shared the ruck and they didn’t do a bad job, not enough work around the ground. I hate to say it but a few blokes have put on some pud, last year they all shed some pud. Conner West showed some real skills, he is a good footballer. We missed Rudy and where was Cooper Todd. I though Trent Manzone showed form reminiscent of his 2018 season. Munns played in the back line but I think he is better as a tagger, taking on guys like Bolton at Claremont; he frustrated the shit out of Bolton. Shane Nelson showed his usual guts but kicking is not his strength. I have always said that every wafl club needs one or two ex AFL players fresh out of the AFL system, Perth have that, and that may have been the difference between the two teams on the day. FORGOT TO MENTION. Who was the dickhead that forgot about the sprinklers. Pitiful.

Yeah, funny stuff with the sprinklers :). Good points Winger, my beef is we don't try and put the opposition under pressure enough going forward, we tend to chip around allowing them to set up. As mentioned earlier, Perth looked a lot different when we moved the ball quickly/direct into the forward line in the last qtr. I don't care if it is $ubi, when going forward quickly it will unsettle sides.

Gday mate, only that he's a 19yo 188cm utility, a ball magnet that was to be playing vfl with geelong this year until they canned it. Sounds like a handy late pick up

Cheers, I saw the West article, lets hope he is good enough to win his position against $ubi, that will make one less to worry about on the day :)

Quality player and will be a huge bonus to Joondy. I think they may do much better than many think. With the VFL shut down we might see a few more heading home.
