Fascinating and insightful interview with Colin Lofts on 91.3fm I heard yesterday. This is the link to it on 91.3fm.

Touched on the new premises and sounds like he's having a hands on role at the club on a couple of committees. It is no wonder we were so successful back in the 60's and 70's when you listen to how many hours he and his team mates used to put in. It was clearly a semi professional sport back then but they put in as many hours as the full time AFL players put in today. I would say probably more, these players today have the ALF Players association and sports scientists telling them not to do too much, you need time off.

A good interview. As someone who was there back in the day and beyond it brought back many memories for me.
He is obviously working very closely with Bob Shields and others. Most of his current day comments revolved around the club’s new premises which seem to be much closer to .fruition with funding from State, Federal and Local government support.
I have commented recently about the current expectations of members and supporters. Those expectations are that behind the scenes there should be many things happening albeit that we do not know much about. I took from his comments confirmation that there IS much happening and we need to remain patient reassured there is is much to look forward to both on and off the field.

Thanks for the link DD.
Great interview from a stalwart and great East Vic Pak boy.
Remember well Colin living behind Henley the butcher on Albany Highway.
A good insight into things to come.
Stay tuned guys.

This interview has confirmed my thoughts on another thread.
I think that maybe just maybe long suffering Perth supporters may finally have a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.
We went 48 years between 1907 and 1955 but at least we had some very good times in between where the club was very competitive and even made Grand Finals.
This latest drought has had no highlights at all.
All through this horrible time our supporters have remained loyal and passionate.
Lets hope that finally this great Club will rise and fill the stadium on Grand Final day with red and black.
This supporter remains ever hopeful that it will be sooner rather than later.
