Not sure he was a key position player.

He was abit of a Mr Fix It utility defender DF that I remember, could play on both talls and smalls.
EF had some pretty handy tall defenders in that era Forman played in with Brennan, Ellis, Browning, Waterson, Crouch, O'Sullivan even Barge Lockyer had a few stints back and handy smaller backs like Christie, Rankin, Hoult, Solins etc
