What was really disturbing was the way the ball pinballed out of our forward line with absolutely zero pressure and EF always had someone sitting out on the wing to be the receiver. You'd reckon we'd have worked it out at some stage. Lachie Dennis, Kristian Carey and Matt Rogers had absolute shockers dropping marks, fumbling balls running into open goals. Foot skills as bad as they'd ever been. Why did it take untl the last quarter to start trying to take the game on and break the EF half field press? It's all about confidence and they looked like rabbits in the headlights against EF's ferocious attack on the ball on Saturday.

Zareth Roe, what a game. Played back, went forward did just about everything right expect dropping an absolute pud right in front in the third quarter. Ethan Hansen, got great skills but got absolutely smashed physically. Jacob Payne did some good things.

FMD who woud want to be a team mate of Cam Eardley? His vile abuse of his own players, including Matthew Jupp when he had a ping at goal in the last quarter was disgusting. I'd smack him in the head if he was my team mate.

Daz for the first time this year I've seen our reserves show some real form according to the WAFL app. 11 players got 20+ possessions and the lowest possession earner got it 9 times. !06 points scored with incredible accuracy with 17.6 and an 11 goal win and 5 multiple goal scorers. That is what we need on a regular basis from our two's to put guys not performing in the league side under pressure and Earl needs to start drawing a line in the sand with these guys and put them on notice.

Huge game this week, should be a good crowd as it is a stand alone game on Saturday. Colts play in the reserves usual time slot and the ressies run out after the league game under lights.
Get on your bike.

Dazzler, obviously disappointing to hear a player acting like that to his teammates...not a good look indeed...perhaps Eardley was pissed after busting a gut for 3/4s to lead EF to a 34 point margin with 37 possessions.....to see it then shrink to 11pts and then see an experienced team mate have a needless ping at goal when perhaps other better options were on offer to ice the game...but as u say not a good look.....esp since Jupp held Bennell to 2 goals from 4 possessions.....fatigue and stress perhaps got the better of Eardley and his actions.

Agree that Dennis, Cary and Rogers need to do more if they are to retain their spots. Rogers is not having the impact that I expected he would.
Mickey Bennell has been a bit off since the State game but managed to bag 2 from 4 disposals on Saturday on an off day. .
He has 17 goals from 7 games = 2+ goals average so he is on track for a 40 goal season. But he has the potential to do better than that.
I hope that now the AFL mid season draft is over he will get his mind back onto the job and target 40-50 goals for the season.
It is not beyond him.

Both from free kicks for holding. To be fair every teams had a look at him now and he's getting some serious attention. Matthew Jupp is a fair player and he wore him like a glove on Saturday. He doesn't need many looks at it to be effective though. He needs a few others up there to get going to take the pressure off being the number one target.
