He did lure at least three decent ex-Bulldogs across to Lathlain like Stephen Mount , the late Chris Stasinowsky , Rodney Grljusich , Warren Mosconi

Also a couple of off field staff that were pretty handy Southerner, head trainer Merv White and football manager Mick Moylan. Brownie certainly knew how to drag people along with him. He plucked the eyes out of Claremont too bringing probably the best recruit of the lot who only managed a couple of games before a career ending knee injury, Lyndsay Kanther, Mark Watson (won a Sandover with us in 87) and the Farmer boys.

Yeah I sort of remember the game Kanther went down , car crash of an injury.

There was another large signing the year before Michael Stinger Rea from West Perth who had a hell of a big part in it too , and I think from memory John Gavranich came with him

Mark Washfold, Ross Prunster & Ray Holden were a few of other players at P from WP around the same time as Rea & Gavranich.
Fotheringhame & Doug Simms all went the other way.

What about big Shane Bogunovich? Built like Tarzan played like Jane. Was he from the Swannies or WP BH?

And how could you forget Len Gandini and John Clarkson crossing over to our eastern suburbs brothers? Couple of handy players there.

Shane Bogunovich was from SD DD as was his brother Ramsey who played at WP after an unsuccesful stint at Geelong.
Shane was swapped for Wayne Simms from P.
Yep Gandini (who got the boot from P by Brownie and wound up at SD) and Clarko were both very good players for us Len played in the 1990 Premiership side.
From memory Perth picked up some handy players from Swans as well DD- Ross Fitzgerald, Greg Frost, Glenn O'Rourke, Brian Dawson, Shane Renfree, Mick Hastie, Drew Cornelious etc it wasnt all one way traffic mate.

Mr AFL -- I have also heard good things about Magro

Smokey: some good thoughts on Jarman, especially given his circumstances. How would you rate Magro and Spalding?

AR, Magro never had his heart in it IMO. He had an external agenda and didn't have his eye on the ball.
Duke has done a good job with what he has had. If he is given the right recruits and further develops the young talent that he has things would look much brighter at Lathlain. However there is word that he may not want to go around again next season.

Hey Smokey if Snake doesn't want to go around next season id be curious as to why he wouldn't.
For mine his coaching career thus far at the Sharks and with us would seem like nothing achieved especially this season with all the kids he is blooding, why wouldn't he want to continue on to that special something that a lot on here are predicting in the near future.
Tbh I don't know where that would leave us if he left, new coach new thoughts, here we go again.

Or maybe it's because the club won't recruit the players we need,it's not unlike this club to be thinking we already have the cattle.

I agree 30+, he should have nothing to lose. If you are right and the club does not recruit why would he stay?
It was just a word I heard. On the other hand the club has announced that it is already actively engaged in looking for the "right" recruits for 2018...

Why does everyone just ignore that McMahon was the last coach to get us 10 wins?

Been following the Demons man, that's why I can't work out why McMahon hated so much when he got the 10 wins, unlike anyone else in the last 20 years and recruited guys like Paul Bevan to the Club.
