Thanks to Ron Head on a great interview with former Premiership champion Wayne Currie.

Brings back great memories of the champion centreman number 16. Unbelievable to think he doubted himself if he was good enough in the early days but i recall my uncle had an u/16's combined side photo he coached in the early 70's on his mantle piece that included Robert Wiley, Brian Peake, Peter Spencer and Wayne Currie. Thanks again Ron.

DD you can see why Currie doubted himself mate.....playing in the same team as Spencer, Wiley and Peake....not too sure if anyone in the team even touched the ball!.....played with David Bain and Richard Dennis as a youngster....they marked and kicked everything.....not too sure what the rest of us were doing out there TBH!

Bloody great bloke Wayne, absolute legend in my eyes, and I'm not old enough to remember him play.

However having met him he is a true gentleman, and a genuinely humble guy who just likes to see people do well
