Had a look at our recruits stats not to flash, ive heard the exuse about the interstate recruits needing to get used to our bigger grounds, the two mids from Victoria playing for Subi and Souths seem to have adjusted well.

And while we are on this subject hows Papertalk going, Leeson kicked four for WP today looks like that swap worked out well.

Pete,

Leeson has hit his straps for us now, Bill has him stationed at HF and not on a wing and he knows where the goals are. I reckon Perths first steps are turning the culture around and thats happening without a doubt.

Mr AFL wrote: On a side note the club has virtually dismantled the pig pen or demons den as it is known in its politically correct form. They did this because they thought the pen was a bad representation of the club and the umpires gave the opposition free kicks because of the pen.

That pen was the heart and soul of the club and they have frustrated a lot of supporters and the umpires are still giving us some dodgey free kicks against. How about stuff it and stop trying to be the politically correct club and turn your attention to the efforts on field. Because I tell you everyone has a good day when their team wins.

What do you mean by dismantled Mr AFL? You mean just by naming it Demons den? (breach of copy write by the way)

Or are you saying they have completely torn it down and removed the can bar? I don't see the big deal about naming it the Demons Den. It was only ever referred to as the Pig Pen, nothing official.

But fair dinkum Marty Atkins has lost a lot of goodwill from supporters at this club. We've won two wooden spoons and on track for a third. A lot of good players have left or been forced out under his watch so I ask what good has he done this club?

I was one of 3 or 4 supporters who were told to tone it down with about 10 min to go on the last qtr of the game against the Tigers because some toffee nose made a complaint. Heard from fellow supporter who I shall not name, there was some allegation of a racial slur from our group. Marty still thinks he's a copper and runs around like Constable Care going off half cocked taking some half wits word something was said.

There was nothing but good natured banter and the game was on the line and the CEO comes running around the corner like the school headmaster. Fair dinkum what a joke.

And I've witnessed the current club president march into the centre square and call the umpires a bunch of cheating C...S. And last week against EP the former president going ballistic at the umpires and opposition players

If you want to talk about CULTURE. Look no further than the above.

Sinclair can hold his head high, played a good game. McKenna never gave up, ditto young Fisher.

Trop took a few heavy hits so hope he is ok for next week.

The backline was really had their work cut out and was undersized

Thompson should be persevered with , didn't get many opportunities

If Graham could hold a few more grabs it would help the cause

We're in for another long season!

No it hasn't been torn down DD but there are signs up everywhere saying don't do this and don't do that. It feels like now they are treating us all like criminals and automatically expect that someone is going to say or do the wrong thing.

They're trying to make it more family friendly which is fine but the pig pen is a place where both men and women over the age of 18 have a couple of drinks and watch the football. Families especially little children shouldn't really be anywhere near the pen. You walk into the pen and you expect some good natured banter, taking the mickey out of opposition players and also letting the umpire know when they have made the wrong call.

Obviously excessive abuse and racial vilification will not be tolerated but that is more common sense and if someone usually steps out of line others in the pen let them know.

There were a couple of incidents in the pen last year. One from what I am lead to believe was caused by some people who do not frequent the pen or our games for that matter often and the other incident was a certain individual who was blatantly abusing the opposition, his own players and making references to the support staff along the boundary lines and when called up on it started to act up.

I think off the back of these two incidents last season as well as the admission that the umpires do give the opposition free kicks because of the pen that the club have tried to quieten the pen and not encourage as many people to watch the game there.

They used excessive swearing as one of the examples. Granted swearing does occur in the pen but it wasn't nearly as much as they were trying to make out.

I do remember those two incidents you speak of DD.

Ridiculous term, that certainly wouldn't help anyones cause
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Fair dinkum nothing ever changes, you go away for a month or so and come back and check the results and bingo we are right at the foot of the table in a most familiar place.

We are a club on the road to nowhere and have been for a long time.

Still the suits will strut around on match day like there sh*t doesnt stink and pretend everythings just great.

Bad appointments, bad recruiting, average development etc etc the list goes on.

And please culture, blooding young players,be patient,on the right track...what a load of crap!
These terms are mentioned every season under the same management yet wheres the improvement?
