Only stayed for the first quarter...Perth i think lead 27 to 7.

Was impressed with the midfield.

Spencer White up forward kicked 2 goals, was a good target.

Brennan Stack kicked a good set shot and No 38 kicked a lovely left foot goal, sorry dont know his name.

Zucconi was good down back.

New recruits all played well. Didnt notice either Sinclair or Irons so not sure if they played.

One thing that did seem missing was a centre half forward?

Johnson seemed to be the back up ruckmen?

Compared to last preseason i reckon 100% improvement.

Can only give to half time, however the day started in the best possible way as I got a whiff of cooking bacon as I strolled up to the entry gates before the start of the colts game. Didn't partake though, stayed healthy and grabbed a ham and salad wrap in the break between the colts and ressies.

Game started with the first clearance, and first kick of the game for the young fella, Fisher, who was very impressive in the time I watched the game. Perth looked to have more leg speed than South, and were intent in getting it in quickly to the big bloke White. Cal Walley was up and about, kicking a couple, and also putting it down the throat of his teammates on occasion.

Zuconni was very good down back, reads the ball very well in flight, destroying it when required, and marking when in best position. His kicking however, was terrible. What he did provide however, was a strong commanding voice, marshalling his teammates, easy to be heard with the sparse crowd.

Stack was lively, at times however tries to do a bit too much, Etto also gave a bit up forward. Mckenna was very good, Jones serviceable. Perth's foot skills were generally fairly good, apart from Zuconni, and set up with confidence from the back half, looking to switch as much as possible.

Was noticeable hearing the voice from the Perth players that they are going to be hard on themselves, at times berating each other for slacking off - not negative but more ensuring they are staying switched on.

Quite impressed with Perth, should win more than their fair share this year.

Good summaryGC. Fisher could be rookie of the year. Still 17 and elegible for colts but he will probably be playing league all year.
I was impressed with Wilkins. A good running player with great delivery by foot. Cary, Etto and Stack lively in the forward line and White kicked 3 goals but must give 2nd efforts when ball comes to ground.
No Graham, Tropo or Eyres today but we got our share of clearances.
Starting to gel as a team and well lead today by Jones, McKenna and Zucconi.
Still very early but the signs are good.
