News in the ST today that the redevelopment is stalling and may have to be done in stages. Bet your life that our proposed upgraded facilities will be last on the agenda.

I think that may depend a bit on us as we have to find the funding.
The government side of it is being sorted I think, i.e. VP Town, State & Federal.
It will be interesting to see.
Would be nice to get an update.

Not sure about that Grassy. I would like to see the Trust Deed which the Trustees have to comply with. I always assumed it was a Future Fund that would require a vote by members to access.

Grassy the members are not in control of the Centurions Fund.
The control lays with the trustees of the fund.
And no the funding for the new premises will be coming from:
West Coast Eagles
Town of Victoria Park
State Government
Federal Government
Other if necessary.

No conspiracies Grassy.
It will be funded and we will get them.

I have known the trustees for a long time.
The fund ain't going anywhere.

Every trust has a trust deed as well as trustees.
The funds can only be used for purposes set out in the trust deed.
I recall the attitude of the trustees when some creative accounting was done by a certain CEO.

No-one other than the trustees have authority to touch the funds.

Heard Hagdorn saying something about it this morning on 6PR. Didn't get all of it but seemed to relate to the Eagles hoping they would get community development grants similar to what Fremantle are getting from the AFL but I think the Eagles have to go it alone.

Shouldn't have any effect on the development from our point of view.

I spoke with Trevor Vaughan in the Broken Hill last week and he said its got nothing to do with the Pfc or town of Vic Park. Apparently the Eagles and State / federal governments are in dispute about funding i.e. what was promised as opposed to what they are going to get.

Doesn't surprise me considering the mess the states finances are now in. Cant see either government putting their hands in to help a club who is one the highest money earners of all clubs and has nearly $50 million cash in the bank!

He said he expected construction work on the WC facilities to start this year.
