A vibrant mood at the AGM... a modest profit for the year but that was good considering a disappointing onfield year. Lots of ground to make up but the mood really is very positive especially in view of the signings so far.
And it may not be finished yet. Apparently we are still talking with some potential recruits.
Training is already well ahead of last year and the mood amongst the players is electric.
The big challenge now is to get all those Demons members and supporters back to the club. There are so many out there and to support the efforts of the players we need to do what we can to get all those supporters to support what is happening at the club..

Yes it was a good meeting. Another profit. Great to see Cooky and Mel awarded life membership. Good to hear a Football Director speak in detail about what is happening with player management. Good to hear a few more ex-AFL players being considered if they can manage to find the points.

Thanks for the getting along guys and for the updates, Would like to do more myself but just doing the best I can at the moment. Will get the wife and myself seperate memberships before the break for Christmas on Friday 18 Dec. Go Dees

Thanks to my informants who provided information about the AGM, most appreciated.

From what I've been told:
1. The mood in the room was very positive.
2. I was very happy to hear that we have a new Director of Football, and that he has a football background.
3. We made a profit albeit modest, in a bad year that is very positive.
4. We apparently do have a "war chest".
5. We are fed up and serious about pulling ourselves off the bottom.
6. Our development system has been overhauled after criticism from the WAFL.
7. The mighty Manning JFC is back with I believe some 400 kids.
8. Our recruiting has not finished, another tall forward maybe?
9. The mood and work ethic of the players is outstanding with many of them reporting for pre-season already having done some work.
10. Consensus appears to be that the Pratt coaching appointment is a very good one.
11. Kathy was co-opted to the Board in October, I for one am very happy about that, she has an excellent background in football.

All in all a good AGM apparently.
