Herein lies the problem. The task of recruiting 'experienced' talent to top up the good kids coming through is continually a two steps forward, four steps back process. We will be facing an almighty task in recruiting just to make up what we will lose at the end of this season let alone getting ahead of the curve. We are years behind in filling the huge gaps that exist in the top end of the list.

You are right Smokey, Earl is working his way through the joint, working out who's good enough, who's not, who's never going to be. It's fantastic to see talented kids finally getting fast tracked for once. Every other club does it but hasn't happened often enough over the years at Perth.

And Smokey, there was a vote last December. Cathy V.W and Len Gandini didn't get up to knock off any of the incumbents. If you were at the AGM you would have heard the audible sigh of disappointment that went around the room when the results were announced. Cathy would have been a great addition and Len would have rattled the cage a fair bit.In my view, only Wayne Smith is worthy of retention on that current board.

I also notice Hayden Tanner, talented youngster, bailed out of PFC as well before the 30 June transfer cut off. And former wunderkind Chris Yarran looks like he's bailed from WP to go to Kenwick.

Sorry Dazz, you are right. I had a "Senior's Moment". I was at the AGM and there had been a ballot, the first in 10 years, and yes, I was one of those loud sighs of disappointment that Cathy did not get up. She was, arguably, the best qualified of all the candidates and the club lost a golden opportunity there.
With so many members calling for change it was amazing that they did not vote for it.

Mad Dog, you shit stirer, Morton and a number of other players lacking a run have been granted permission to play in the Ammos as they have been out for a while and they need to get some touch for when Perth return after the bye, he hasn't left the club !

Lol that's why I said "looks as though"!

I don't think you need to get cleared to have a game in Ammo's,you just need to play on a permit,so it's an interesting one.

Earlier on in the year when Perth had a double bye they didn't let anyone play.

Who are the other players needing a run Leedy? As the only other playing cleared from Perth is Callum Walley to Scarborough and I thought he'd been playing regularly.

I though Morton got 3 weeks against Claremont?
That would make him unavailable to play this weekend.

smokey wrote: You are right 30*. I am sure that Snake has been using this year to sort out the inadequate squad he inherited. A bit different to Jars who after almost making the finals in his first year was denied any recruiting in the second and so arguably the best coach we had in years was lost.
It seems that Snake is nurturing several youngsters from the colts in the ressies side. They are not yet ready for league but are being given the experience in senior footy and the opportunity to show what they have. That is nowhere near the total answer but it is a pleasant departure from the McDud years.
I think he is sorting out the deadwood and fining the squad down to the players who can take us forward. I have said previously that there are only about 10 players on the senior list on which to build a team going forward so some fair dinkum recruiting will have to be done or we are going nowhere. As you suggest we must be bold and go and get the players we need and who are up to the task not wait for players to fall into the lap.
I also agree that changes are needed upstairs. There has been no ballot for board positions for over ten years and fresh faces with new ideas and a positive outlook are really what the club needs.
Sadly, I don't think we have many within the membership or supporter base who are willing and able to devote the time and commitment for the job.

Smokey we had a ballot last year mate. Were you a member in 2014?
