30 inside 50's for a whole game,10 players with 10 or less touches for the game,6th time this season we have kicked 9 or less goals in a game.
Pathetic!!

How is Spalding supposed to build on that, the mediocre cattle he has at his disposal?
He goes in each week without a ruckman thats up to it,a team with no forwards a team without any talls worth anything and a sub standard midfield,Tropiano can hold his head high.
I reckon more than half of our team would not get a game at another Wafl club!

Who was the poster that said pre-season "we won't be as bad as people think"
He was right,we are worse!!!

He's probably checking out for himself who to keep & where he needs to spend to fill the holes under his style. He looks to have a lot of holes to fill unfortunately

That is pretty much reality for ES. Sadly,IMHO, there are possibly only 10 players around which to build a half decent team. Too many holes to fill in one pre-season methinks.

What are the chances of getting Twomey (how many points do we have spare).

Heard pretty solid info in the last couple of weeks that Cruize Garlett wants out of Peel and we are front runners to get him...... at this stage

I've said for the last 18 months that we could do with having Cruize back at the club. Is only a 1-point player. However I doubt he will come to the Demons as I have heard some at the club were not to impressed with he way he conducted himself after he left North Melbourne and joined Peel Thunder.

In regards to Wade Twomey he would be a very handy pick up. However if we are going to spend 10 points on a player there are more areas in the team that need addressing first.

Hopefully we can find another Tropiano or 2 before Wednesday morning. However I highly doubt it.

If they are going to get Garlett they had better extract the digit, clearances close tommorrow.

Forget Twomey,Subi are playing games with there player points.
He's going nowhere.

I hope we go through our points and get rid of every 10 point player we have on our list and start again and recruit players we need.
Not small utilities or half back flankers.
Time to get rid of the dead wood.

Also time this club got ballsy when recruiting eg.3 players i'd approach if they are not contracted at there WAFL clubs next season are Notte from Swans,Richardson from Claremont and Yarran from Subi.

Get rid of the crap which includes a few suits up stairs!

You guys are amazing!

At this point of the year what would be the point of getting Twomey on board even if he was available? All he'd be doing is taking time and development away from a youngster!

I think on the field you are way ahead of the same time last year in terms of having a coach that is definitely going to be there next year and finding out about what you actually need to suit the players you already have and which can play the style Spalding wants.

For me your biggest issues are still off field and instead of worrying about certain players and who could come to the club I'd be belting the door down with all my mates for change at the top as it seems those guys have been around too long!

Tyson Beattie ain't a Football Managers asshole either!!!

It's jobs for the boys at the PFC. It's not what you know it's who's back you are prepared to scratch. If you want to be part of the inner sanctum you need to tow the party line. There's a lot of Yes Men in this club merely taking up space strutting around looking the part in their suit or polo top.

This year reminds me so much of Andrew Jarmans second year. Heap of players left or retired and club did SFA to replace them. Time for Pendal to open that war chest they've been hoarding for years and put it to good use.

You are right 30*. I am sure that Snake has been using this year to sort out the inadequate squad he inherited. A bit different to Jars who after almost making the finals in his first year was denied any recruiting in the second and so arguably the best coach we had in years was lost.
It seems that Snake is nurturing several youngsters from the colts in the ressies side. They are not yet ready for league but are being given the experience in senior footy and the opportunity to show what they have. That is nowhere near the total answer but it is a pleasant departure from the McDud years.
I think he is sorting out the deadwood and fining the squad down to the players who can take us forward. I have said previously that there are only about 10 players on the senior list on which to build a team going forward so some fair dinkum recruiting will have to be done or we are going nowhere. As you suggest we must be bold and go and get the players we need and who are up to the task not wait for players to fall into the lap.
I also agree that changes are needed upstairs. There has been no ballot for board positions for over ten years and fresh faces with new ideas and a positive outlook are really what the club needs.
Sadly, I don't think we have many within the membership or supporter base who are willing and able to devote the time and commitment for the job.
