A night of 2 halves.

The very good
$100,939 profit for the year.
A great result for the Club.

The Bad
Election failure neither of the 2 candidates won a place on the board so no change.
Not so disappointed about Gandini (although we do desperately need a Director of Football) but the lady had such fine credentials in footy admin she should have been co-opted on to the board.
Cale Morton gone back to Melbourne.
Claremont don't want to pay for Busher, now SF are interested.
Couple of recruits from EP & Peel, no doubt ressies players.

Thank god the date has changed.

Very good news about the profit there DF. Something the club should be very happy with given the tough economic times we are in at the moment. I know a fair slice of this came from the revenue received from the alignment model but still when you see some of the other clubs profit's and losses for 2014 you still have to sit back and say well done.

In regards to the board members, congratulations to them all I'm sure the people re-elected must be pleasantly pleased. One thing I will ask though is that all the people that advocated for change on the board were they members? If so did they vote? Only 39% of members or there about I think they said voted. Why so little? If people like they say they have wanted change this was there best chance to do it and they haven't. Who knows how long until the next time elections are called.

In regards to recruiting I think that is the best we can hope for. In all honesty who really wants to come to a club that hasn't done much for 37 years. Anyone of real note anyway.

The best we can hope for is to look at the best way to strengthen the gaps in our list as quickly and effectively as we can and give the team the best chance to be competitive in 2015. If this means going and targeting players from other WAFL clubs with 30-80 games experience then that's what we will do. A benefit of this approach is that you will get players that range from 2 points to 7 points rather than a 10-11 point player from interstate, thus freeing up more points for more players to come in. Also these players already reside in Perth which is a bonus.

This should not mean though that the management at the club should still not have a crack at trying to lure the best players to the club.

If South Fremantle are interested in Haydn Busher I would be inquiring about the services of Cameron Loersch. May only be 19 but has played in the ruck and up forward in colts football over the last three seasons. Here's what his draft profile read:

"Giant 203cm key forward who was originally a ruckman, but held down a key post for South Fremantle's colts and was a dominant player this season kicking 57 goals. Played the majority of the year deep but also pushed up to centre-half forward with good results. Very flexible and is terrific below his knees for a man of his size. Has excellent skills and is a good shot for goal, whether it be from distance or on the run. Also handy in the ruck when he pinch-hits in that role"

Goodluck to Cale Morton back in Melbourne this frees up another 10-points for recruiting. I think that means we are back to having around the mid thirties to go and recruit players with Wolfenden and Latch taking up seven and three points respectively.

If Dean is back at the club let's see how he goes over preseason. If he does the hard yards to get his body right and in good knick then who knows. Like others have said is a decent kick. At the end of the day he is a one point player. This isn't going to affect the points tally too much and should still allow the management at the club to go and target other higher points players. The upside is that if everything goes right for Dean over preseason the club has picked up a handy player that only costs a point.

I would still be trying to get Julian Jacobs, Ali Smith and Matt Tedesco back at the club as well. I know others have said and they are right that these players were here before and we still did nothing. But for what they cost in points they would be able to help fill some of those gaps in the side. Look at it this way those three players combined I think are roughly 6-7 points. Cale Morton who has know left cost 10. Which group would have given you more output during the season?

Sorry about the long post got on a bit of a rant there haha.

Interesting that a question about the future of the WCE alignment touched a raw nerve.

Also gold to see that next years State Game will be at Lathlain. Should be a nice little earner for the club.

DF,
Who and how did they answer the question??

It's pretty well a lock in you would think with there HQ's being on the other side of the ground.
The longer we go without success the more this administration will use that as a cop out to go down the alignment path,i reckon how we recruit this season may be the biggest indication yet that that's the way this club will go..

I guess the only other real scenerio would be for East Perth to move in to ground share?

Anyway i reckon by the time all this happens most Perth supporters will be doing other things on a Saturday arvo, theres only so much crap one can take following this club!

Vince suggested that down the track the decision would be in the hands of others.
Not sure how the Club could be forced into it, so I am now convinced that Vince has changed his tune and the decision has already been made as to what the Club's desire is.
He also suggested in no uncertain terms that EP would not be ground sharing. (Hint)
This supporter will be changing the way he supports the Club.

He was so defiant 12 months ago and it definitely appears he has changed his mind over the alignment.

Credit where credit is due. The club is in a very good financial position - I think Subi only posted a profit in excess of ours, and that was only by a few dollars. Congratulations to all those on the financial side of the club. Your efforts are much appreciated. Now to get behind Earl and get things right on the football side.

I wasn't at AGM; didn't hear Pres's remarks. But from what was said on here, wasn't he saying it wouldn't be his decision - meaning by the time the alignment comes up again he wouldn't be Pres. When is the alignment up?

For those who wish to ditch the club, please do. Your whingeing on her is pretty tiring, and makes enduring a 37 year flag drought seem like a cake walk in comparison.
