Amen to that.

Just amazing watching that game on Saturday, for large parts of the first and second quarter we had no one inside our 50m arc. We'd win the ball across half back and there'd be no one forward of the player with the ball.

Almost every time we went forward in that game the player with the ball had to deliver it to the chest of a player running the same way as the ball. No one coming out of the forward line running at the ball carrier because they were invariably behind the player with the ball to start with. Every last element of that clown McMahon's bankrupt game plan needs to be purged from this playing group. Next year I'd love to see a forward line that runs towards the ball carrier instead of away from him!

That would be too easy Dazzler and too much common sense involved.

Put a 6' 4" power forward in the goal square that can take a grab, can kick a goal, ditto for CHF surround them with quick on there feet smaller forwards and watch the game plan within the forward line change.
Keep it as a midget forward line then they will always go up the ground chasing kicks as per under the current/past coaching regime.

We would have to be one of the very few clubs that changes coach mid season and not win at least one game under the caretaker coach!

Hopefully the new coach sees the value at WAFL level the need for quality tall kpp's.
Get the spine right and thats half the battle something past coaches have ignored.

Agree that we need a power forward 30 plus. Two would be nice but with points available and money etc... one has to be a definite priority during the off season.

Marcus Adams and the role that he has played for West Perth is a good example of a SECOND tall forward. Has kicked 20 goals but provides another option going forward. As I said he or someone like him that plays the same role would be a good SECOND tall forward.

The main tall forward needs to be someone that will clunk 100 marks for the season and kick around 50 goals. I know they don't grow on trees but players like this are out there.

I know they are,i gave you one example in a post of a big forward playing in the Gippsland League in Victoria that has kicked over 100 goals in consecutive seasons.
You never know,at the very least he's worth a look.

Exactly still worth a look. Should make contact with him now and try and get him over for preseason or at least for a couple of weeks training and not wait until January.

Or at least make contact with people within that league to get a better handle on what type of player he is and the quality of the league he is from etc.. thats a start.

Should acknowledge that Cody Leggett and Daniel Arangio debuted for the club on Saturday. Fair to say Arangio probably struggled a bit to pick up the faster tempo of the game but I thought Cody Leggett played well. Not just your average type/size, he's got a man's body already and he runs straight at the contest.

Would love to see him, Arangio, Browne, Garstone and Doncon become regular league players next season.

Welcome to football in the 21st century Dazzler. It's not just Perth that play like that. In every game, if the ball is up one end of the ground then there is no one up the other end. It is completely deserted past the centre line.
As I say all teams play like that, it's just that we are the worst at it. Whichever AFL coach brought in this press, he should be shot. It's ruined football for me.
