This has been a problem within the club for several years.
Time for big change.

People always say time for a big change but nothing ever happens. We show glimpses like we did for majority of the 2013 season but then can not go to the next level required.

Perth have lost eight games this season after either leading or being in with a chance late in the match but just couldn't go on with it.

Round three against West Perth from memory we were 5-points down and where attacking. I can't remember who the player was but he was on an angle and instead of passing over the top to a bloke who would have had a shot from 20 metres out directly in front and I think he could have possibly ran into an open square, the other player decides to have a shot from the boundary. The result a behind and West Perth run the ball up the other end and kick a goal putting the margin out to 10-points with not long to go. We lost by 18-points.

Round five against Swan Districts we lost by 1-point.

Round six we played East Perth up at Medibank and played pretty well. We ended up losing by 22-points and from memory it was the former Perth players now at East Perth that got them over the line.

Round nine saw us go up against the Sharks at home and we were ahead going into the last quarter but couldn't go on with it and lost by 9-points.

Round ten we tackled Swan Districts and were up by 37-points. However a 74-point turn around by Swans saw them get up by 37-points.

Round fifteen we played the Sharks down at ATOM park under new coach Trevor Williams. Had our chances to win but went down in the end by 10-points.

Round sixteen we played South Fremantle at home and after taking the lead midway through the last quarter, the Bulldogs kicked the last two goals of the game and won by 12-points.

And who could forgot that game in round eighteen again against Swan Districts. 37-points up late into the third quarter and we go down by 6-points.

Keep checking this link Cesspit. It has who was suspended for the round and what the findings have been so far.

It's not pretty reading Mr AFL but at least you can take some comfort that given the right coach, it shouldn't be too hard to turn those narrow losses into victories. It sounds like you're doing all the hard work but lack the mental strength or even the fitness to get over the line. My takeaway from all that is a new coach will have a fair bit to work with and that success might not be too far away if all goes right.

Exactly BC. The team has shown they are capable of playing some pretty good football this year, mainly in the first half of the season but they have not been able to sustain that for a whole game. Whether the players were in general just not fit enough or whether the ex-coaches game plan was to taxing on the players I don't know. Both are things that need addressing though and if you get them right then we should see some improvement.

Hopefully we don't lose too many and are able to address the needs or as many of them as possible during the offseason. A key midfielder, key back and key forward are all priorities in that order for me. And as I said on another forum if we can also get Matt Tedesco, Julain Jacobs, Ali Smith and Cruize Garlett at a total cost of 7 points and the only transfer fee you would pay is for Cruize Garlett. Those four players would be in the best 22 you would think.
