Youre right Mr AFL, the job didnt get done when more of them were together. But at least the club was competitive. And i can count on about 10 occasions in the past 2 seasons where Perth has one or none on the bench at 3/4 time. So it goes back to my original question on the strength and conditioning. Was the game plan too taxing or was the strength and conditioning not aligned to the game plan. I dont know. But I have never seen so many injuries at the same time as right now - and besides maybe White and Sinclair, if you were to name Perths best 15 players, I think that the ones out would comprise the majority of that list

Noone is doubting that young guys should be given opportunity now. But i really get the feeling, based on comments heard, that the players they are going to find out on are more likely to be those that cost points or are more mature in age. Maybe im misinterpreting what is being said , but i think that will probably mean Borrett will get a chance, maybe White.

Im ok with playing anyone if they deserve a game and hence either of the colts kids Browne or Tanner wouldnt be the worst move. Garstone is interesting and given another pre season or two, he could be the key forward Perth are crying out for. He has got better the longer the reserves season has gone. But hes light and still learning. For mine the club needs two tall forwards on top of Garstone given Busher has hardly played for 3 years and Deaves has had knees in this time too. Easier said than done but surely McInnes will be one at the end of this season.

Yep Cruize Garlett, Kelvin Lawrence, Kristian Thornton, Laine Wilkins and James Hawksley would be exactly the type of players we should have been targeting. No speculative plonks from bush leagues in Victoria.

Dazzler, I know the recruitment of Hunt hasn't been a success, yet over recent years we've done very well with Victorian recruits such as Risol, Young, McCorkill, Perkins, Kayler-Thomson, Webb, Pang, Carlyle, Sketcher, a few guys from Wangaratta? etc

Given some came via the VFL but we've snared a few very handy players from over East so wouldn't dismiss going to the Vic well again

Subiaco ressies would go close to knocking off your league side now the way they are travelling at the moment. Have a look through that list for next year.

I put this in the 2015 and beyond thread Plus1 as my response is probably more relevant in there.

Tanner was very good, excellent in the Colts the week before.
Agree about Mitch Browne too
Scott Doncon was good in defence, that might be his position going forward.

I was disappointed to hear that as I think he has been a very good pick up for us this year in terms of the tagging role he was performing. However he has to put his career first and good luck to the kid. Hopefully circumstances mean he can play with us next year.

Being spoken to by the FM was more likely the reason he took a FIFO.
