If this is true about Waterman it is the first-stage in the West Coast Eaglesisation of the club; remember, the football elite in this town have actually re-discovered the Perth Football Club in recent times.

I am hoping like hell that the new coach will see Ali Smith back at the Club next year.

As for you Arkroyal, where have you been?
In stormy waters I reckon.
Your Club has already been West Coast Eagleised.
Lot of East Perth players to choose from for the finals after the 18 Eagles that already eligible.

Hi Demons Forever

Let me assure you that my user name has nothing to do with the EP football club at all. It refers to the leading ship of the line in the Royal Navy. My concern for the PFC is genuine, as I don't want another club destroyed. There is absolutely no justification for appointing Waterman on the grounds of his record alone; but, if there are other forces at play, than what I suggested is entirely possible.

By the way, I support Subiaco, so I know a little bit about Waterman.

I'm hoping that we can have Ali Smith, Julian Jacobs and Matt Tedesco back. Three players all in the starting 18 and some extra support through the middle.

Then there's potentially the likes of Sam Butler, Fraser McInnes or Simon Tunbridge that could join depending on what happens with them at the end of the year.

While McInnes does need to improve he is a key tall and at only one point is worth it.

By no means am I saying that he should be our key position forward that we recruit, more so if he is available it is a bonus.

Okay, Arkroyal.
No we don't want Waterman.

As for WCE, that decision was made by EP and WCE.
We did not enter discussions with WCE over alignment.
Their agreement goes beyond relocation of WCE to Lathlain.
Our position at Lathlain was secured with the support of Town of Victoria Park.
My understanding is that our club only supports our survival alone at Lathlain.
As the 2nd or 3rd most viable Club financially end of story.
What EP do regarding training and playing is the business of EP & WCE.

Hi DF -- it is good to see that you have a sound understanding of the history of the RN -- you were on the right track with your 'stormy waters remark'. I understand that things are pretty solid at Perth financially which is good. It is true that EP's agreement goes for five years, but will it? Every other club wants that agreement ripped up. long before five years. IN short the WCE will be on the look out for a new partner. The obvious partner, once the changes are made at Laithlan, especially for the WCE and the media, will be Perth. I will give you an example of what I mean from a different situation, which involved my club. Before EP signed the agreement, some suggested there should be a merger between Subiaco and EP. Why? There is no logical reason; but there is one silly reason: we share the same car park and it is the easiest thing to do. This will be Perth's dilemma in future years.

Yes I hear what you are saying, but with our attitude to the alignment and our attitude to stand alone just can't see it.
Unless there is a complete clean out and the new regime had differing views.
We've worked too hard to get ourselves out of the shit.
Turn it around onfield and we will be the 2nd most financial club.
Can't see us overtaking your lot.

My interest in PFC diminishes every year that goes on
Sick of lame weak gutted decisions , regarding coaches and recruiting
If that spud Waterman is appointed, that's it for me
So over the ineptness that continues at the PFC

Imo all these names being thrown up as "possible returns" is a waste of time.
Out of all of them including the AFL names the only 2 possibilities and they are remote possiblities imo are Ali Smith and Tedseco...forget the rest.

I'd be more worried about the likes of Bevan and Risol staying!!
The returns if any will look after themselves.

On Waterman as i have already put up his coaching record up i will reiterate in brief,in 7 years of senior WAFL coaching he has seen his team finish 6th or lower on the ladder 6 out of 7 seasons,a poor record whichever way you look at it!
The PFC could not possibly appoint him based on that record!

Don't rate Julian Jacobs? 30 plus?

And I agree Waterman is not the man for the PFC IMO. Still would prefer Harris and then Harvey.
