I happened to switch on 6PR this morning and Mitch Moreton was on with Bob Maumill and Hagdorn discussing WAFL and AFL.

Mitch was quite interesting to listen to and may have a future in radio, however what really got my attention was the discussion on yesterdays game. Mitch didn't know the Swans player he was on at start of the game and then didn't even know the name of Alex Howard who was moved onto him. He was very complimentary on the way Howard played. He knew he was number 25 but that was it. Howard has played 40 WAFL games!!! I was gobsmacked, how can our players not know who the hell they are playing on, who their opponents are. If they don't know that surely they don't know their strengths and weaknesses.

Maybe a poor reflection of the coaching staff too!

Thats interesting WB, certainly points to a lack of preparation for his opponent. Particularly from a guy who played AFL for Sydney where they would have without doubt had to digest a dossier on their opposition

surely Morton with all his experience should be leading from the front and doing his own homework and setting an example to his lesser Perth team mates in terms of preparation......but then again in the AFL aren't the players spoon fed by their coaches?

Yeh was thinking the same thing mate! I was flabbergasted too when I heard that!

Someone should have asked Mitch why his brother kept yelling "2 weeks" at young Hug for about a half of footy for not passing it to him?!?!

Freezin do you think Peter Bell worried about who his opponents were when he came back to the WAFL? Mitch "Morton" has booted 10 goals since being switched to FF in the last 2 matches. I'm sure you would like to have him at EF. My only criticism of him on Saturday was he played from behind his new opponent after half time, having said that he would have done his opponent cold if the ball was kicked to his advantage. Full credit to the kid who kept him goalless after half time.
