Disappointed to lose the game but really proud of the boys efforts but TBH it was always going to be a tough ask. I suppose lucky for us Josh Smith didn't play. I thought it was actually a better performance than last week against Swans, less skills errors but still way too many basic mistakes. I thought our tackling pressure was outstanding, while saying that EP players slipped some tackles too easily. I don't know what the stats say but I think we broke even around the stoppages and centre clearances and I think Eyres and Power competed well against a man mountain in Johnson and Sinclair.

Jarred Morton was outstanding and Cale played by far his best game to date. Hopefully he can provide that sort of run more often and wing is his best position, don't know why he was persisted with as a permanent forward in recent weeks.

Clem Smith is a jet, he would look great in purple ;). Dene White must be right up there in the league with most clearances. Brennan Stack once again did nothing all day. You keep thinking he is going to have a break out game but he continues to fail to hit the scoreboard. Maybe he needs a run in the magoos? But then who else is there who can make a difference?

I went along to this game and was very impressed with Perth and thought they outplayed ERT for a lot of the game but just lacked the firepower up front unfortunately and that is where you will have your issues going forward.
The Umpires were abysmal and the report of Dene White against McGinnity was an ansolute joke and the reporting umpire Stuart Parry being an experienced Umpire should be banished forever for his shocking display today.
An example Craig Wulf drops to his knees AND ducks his head only to be rewarded with a kick in front 30m out resulting in a momentum breaking goal and later (not for the first or last time either in the game)Dene White had his head ripped off and guess what? No free kick (he is a ripper Dene White).
Anyway well done Perth on your efforts against the scum

Some of the worst offenders as per WAFL online

Stack 8
Eyers 4
Power 8
Lynch 11
O'Sullivan 10
Moody 11 (did kick 4 goals in the first quarter then went missing)

Hunt and Eyers should be better off for the run.

Lesson must learn to tackle and not just put hands on opponents.

The Bush must find some form soon, did ok today but a way to go.

Hopefully Collard back soon.

Hodge 3 weeks away. Win 2 of these and we are Still in the hunt.

Funny watching McInnes, Tunbridge, Butler, Smith and to a lesser extent College. Thought McInnes in particular hated playing against us. And I say that in a nice way.

Interesting you say that TFAF as I saw Fraser at Lathlain Park last Sunday watching P vs SD.
I will bet my last dollar not one of the ERT or FART boys from other WAFL clubs want to play for either of those 2 scum teams!

McInnes, Tunbridge, Colledge & even Sammy Butler all came over to our players.
The only one that didn't was Ash Smith. No surprises there the guy fits in with no-one.

Yep, pretty sure the EAGLES got 2 or 3 50m penalties that resulted in gifted goals. One push in the act of marking contest. Yet Clem Smith was clearly decked after he kicked it and the free kick should have been down the ground.

Stuart Parry is an embarrassment of an umpire. He paid six frees in the first quarter, all to EP forward of centre. Is it just coincidence that he's umpired West Coast Reserves in four of their six matches so far? Looks like they bring their own umpire as well.

Not wanting to be too negative about the game but even though we tried hard I thought it was a game we could have won. EP were without Lee (still injured) and Josh Smith (our nemesis in past years) and they didn't have too many good eagles players such as Sheed or Hutchings. I just thought it was probably he weakest we will find them this season and we couldn't pull it off. When we hit the front in the 3rd quarter I was hoping we might run over them but we lost the momentum and never really threatened to win after that,
I thought honourable losses were a thing of the past but we still seem to be hanging our hats on them.

Exactly Cesspit.
EP are not this invincible team everybody makes them out to be,they lose 4 or 5 to the Eagles and there not getting 4 or 5 back in return to replace so they have to draw on there ressies,as you pointed out no Smith which also should have been a bonus.
West Perth and Subi have taken advantage of the EP player losess in the past couple of weeks and we couldnt!

Thats now 3 losses in a row with a trip down to Rushton Park next and we no doubt will play Peel into winning form!!

Our season is on the line this week...a loss and the natives could start getting restless.
