Cale Morton is a great get for the demons. at wafl level a good signing despite what others say on here about a youtube clip.
From memory the footy show repeatedly replay that clip of sam newman girly slapping a player and backing off. there was nothing weak about newman as a player, it just gets a good laugh for some people.
Cale is a decent player for sure, and with all 3 Mortons playing together it will likely get the best out of all of them. It was only 14 months ago Mitch helped swing a premiership to the Sydney Swans. Played arguably the game of his life.

well done Perth I say

has anyone seen that utube vid of Cale?.....the one where Cale confronts an opposition player and then when the guy retaliates, Cale is seen running off with the opposition player chasing him.....very funny indeed....Gary Lyon and the footy panel had a right chuckle at that......saw it on the BigFooty site!

   ..Brendon Lade was the player chasing him freeze!
The softest thing I have ever seen on a footy field and one of the funniest!
I am tipping some of these Perth supporters very happy to pick up Cale havent seen the vid mate!! :pinch:

That video was not what it appeared to be and quite unfair on Morton. A convenient footage to poke fun.
As the confrontation occurred the ball had moved downfield. Lade with his back to the play was intent on having a piece of him with his back to the ball which was headed back over their heads. What appeared to be Cale running from Lade and what was not shown was,in fact, Cale with eyes on the ball coming back and trying to make position to get back into the play. A bit unfair on the man purely for cheap laughs.

Keeping "Mum" on it for now. Keep a few of the negative types on here wondering for a while.

oh geez fella's.....of course the video was a piss take.....more concerned smokester wasted his time telling us all it wasn't a true reflection of what happened! :silly: .....it was a bit of fun and a piss take of a fella well known around the traps for being a reluctant inside contributer....big deal, not everyone likes the hard ball......I have no doubt the kid will do well for PFC in 2014......and hopefully beyond.....still soft though!!

interesting to see Perth will have 3 spare men in defence next year tho....Cale, Jarryd and Mitch....I wonder how that will work out?

pretty hard not to be negative smokester.....mums the word mate.....has been since 1977 apparently!!

The same supporters on here we're probably having a crack at Cale when he was at EP and jeering him it's all changed now he may be in red and black I don't have to watch the video I make my own mind up having seen him play plenty of games.

That video was funny, even if some selective editing was done :)

In regards to Cale, everyone knows the wraps this guy has had on him since he was drafted. Great hands and pretty good foot skills, can run all day, Larke Medalist and by looking at his under 18 video can take a Con... yes contested mark. At 192 cm he shows all the promise in the world. Had a good first three years in the AFL but then injuries and form let him down towards the end. In saying that he was solid this year for East Perth and this led to him playing 3-4 games for the Eagles.

We know that he isn't going to be the first bloke on the bottom of the pack but I'm willing to give him a go and see what he can offer the club. Having his brothers there might just spur him on that little bit more.

I wonder who the last side was to have three brothers playing in the same team together?

I've done a little bit of research on this and i think it would either be the Hebbard brothers (Colin, Robert and Neville) of West Perth back in 1965 who actually formed the centreline in a game against old easts, or the Dalton brothers (Don, Pat and Barry) for Perth in the 60s.

Smokey will confirm but I think there was 4 Dalton brothers.

Three played in one game, I think, Barry Don & Pat, but that would have been early 60s (62 or 63) I think.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

Tiger, there was a 4th Dalton brother, Dale. Other than the Danihers at Essendon I don't think that the Wafl can do better than 4.
Other names that may crop up are the Regans at EF... Con, Harry, Mike ??? any more?
