Thanks for that Mr AFL.

Some observations:

The Development coach is kidding. Chad Sandilands - coaches award? For what?

As I thought, McMahon re-appointed without the job being advertised. I'm bitterly disappointed and certain people at board level need to be taken to task and replaced.

Has Reimers gone, do you know? Has there been anything official?

Jarryd Morton 6th in fairest and best after what 6 or 7 games? Great effort.

We must change our attitude towards the Colts kids. They must be nurtured none of them were blooded this year.

There are several promising kids and they must be transitioned. We need to get rid of some of the hacks clogging up the ressies side.

In regards to blooding colts players, this year saw Kieran Hug play 3 games of football in his first year out of the colts program and Michael Sinclair play 19 out of 20.

With Reimers, nothing was mentioned. I hope he stays and works his backside off in the preseason. I reckon he could be a very good player at this level if he gets fit and gets his head right.

Jarryd Morton was the surprising one there. Imagine what he could do with a full preseason?

In regards to Chad Sandilands the players themselves say he is an extremely good tap ruckman. Obviously needs to work on other areas of his game to have more of an impact but as they say big blokes take time.

With the idea of blooding more colts kids they have to be ready for it physically and mentally.

Brent Edmonds is too old for colts now and hopefully can hit the gym in the summer and put on 3-4 kilos. Definitely potential there.

Toop and Merson are others with pretty decent sized bodies for their age and I think they are also too old for the colts program next year. Doncon is still eligible for colts next year I think as he has only just turned 18.

Ron Tucker Medal - Matt Welburn

Who is Matt Welburn and what is the Ron Tucker Medal. I cant remember a guy called Matt Welburn in the League all year? Is it a club man medal.

I thought Ron Tucker was a full forward.

Well done to Sandi. Yes he obviously needs to learn to impose his presence around the ground and take a hell of a lot more marks and be a lot better on the ground. But I tell you it would not be easy growing into that size body as a nineteen year old.

I think we didn't groom many colts players this year as we were going for a top 4 spot up untill the last round and wanted to put our best team on the ground each week.

I have heard that it is better to keep a colts player in the colts program (if they are not going to break into the league team) rather than play them in the reserves as the pace of colts is a bit faster than reserves and therefore beter for their development.

Great work hodge. Suprised Moody didn't get more votes and Sketcher.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Best Clubman was Matt Welburn, he did play a couple of Reserves Games at end of year but helped out wherever he could. The Rob Tucker Medal went to Michael Sinclair as a promising player for the Club. Welburn has played for the Club for a couple of years but had a heap of injuries.

DF, I heard Brendan Kays talking to Tim Gossage on 6PR on Saturday. He confirmed that Sketcher has gone but no other outs at this stage.

He said that the club is talking to several possible recruits and that the main target is a replacement for Ross Young that we did not get this season. That will be a tall order but at least the club recognises the need for a pacey ball magnet to bolster the midfield.

Mitch Morton is a good get and hopefully Reimers and Ali Smith are not going anywhere although I reckon Reimers will be giving the AFL Draft a go.

With a good pre-season behind him I think that Jarrad Morton will be a big asset next season. He did very well in the few games he played late in the season given that he had an injury or two.

Heard nothing official on the coach but it is getting a bit too late to be advertising so it seems there will be no change. If that is the case I hope it is only for one more year and that his prime KPI is for a non negotiable premiership.
