As we are not chasing any coaches participating in the WAFL grandfinal and ditto for the AFL and Sanfl finals and the fact that our season ended a month ago it looks as though the club imo is going with McMahon for a 4th year.

Lets see he was appointed firstly for 2 years...but after 1 season and before the end of his contract and finshing the season in 6th spot some genuis thought thats a great season lets give him a contract extension of 1 year before another club swoops and signs him(obviously im joking)..yep justified(joking again) as the next season he takes us to 8th spot on the ladder now in his bonus 1 year contract extension year and his 3rd at the club and with a squad that many thought was a "finals" squad the majority of our wins for the season came against sides below us on the ladder(7th,8th and 9th),imo he failed to get much needed wins against the better teams in the comp and we finished the season in a disappointing 6th spot on the ladder,no finals spot for a 16th season in a row!
3 years for a 6th,8th and 6th place finishes on the ladder is an indication to me that he has to be moved on.

I reckon we need a new coach for 2014,others (PFC SUPPORTERS) thoughts??

Did you listen to the Redlegs Half Hour last night?

Certainly gave me the impression that he's staying put in 2014.

At least he seems to think he is.

Wasn't overly impressed with his response to my question about why Ali Smith is on the outer at Lathlain - "Whether he stays at Perth is up to him"

What a pathetic answer. All that says is we don't really want him.
McMahon is basically a country league or amateurs coach who has somehow found himself in a WAFL league coaching position. He will stay for sure because our board and others are ready to accept mediocrity. The kitchen sink should have been thrown at getting Brian Dawson this year but we had already committed to McMahon early last year.

No i didnt listen,i really do struggle listening to the guy,he speaks and it just doesnt make sense!

His answer to your question is his way of saying "he's gone".
I cringe every time he's interviewed on the ABC match day.

Hes up for a new contract isnt he??
I bet London to a brick this fool is given another 2 years.

Do yourself a favour and have a listen. The podcast is up already on the 91.3FM website.

A few things that I got from it:

He reckons the team needs to be physically stronger. Can’t argue with that. He compared Perth’s development to WP and said we were a few years behind their physical abilities.

Confirmed Sketcher gone. On the hunt for recruits, spoken to some locally and interstate including Nick Lower.

He sees Busher and Fry as replacements for McInnes and Tunbridge.

Nodded off during his two-minute ramble of excuses of why we lost the close ones to EF and Swans and the big ones against EP and EF at the end of the season. Half expected him to finish with “…and my magnetic whiteboard stopped working”.

To be fair he made a pretty good case for some of the young kids developing at Lathlain. There’s some good youngsters coming through but its probably at the experienced end that the squad needs topping up with some big bodies.

Good summation Dazzler.
He certainly spoke like he will be coaching PFC again next season. That would be contrary to previous reports that the position would be advertised.
He was certainly less than convincing regarding Ali Smith. IMHO, we cannot afford to lose Ali and if there is some internal conflict then it should be someone else who should be leaving, NOT Ali.

Dazzler, I agree that we should be looking at developing our kids, but we don't seem to do it well IMHO.

South towards the end of the year gave some colts kids a go in reserves and (maybe league?).

I don't thin any of our kids were brought up, I may be wrong but we just don't seem to give them a go.

Are there any there that may be given a go?

Clem Smith did get mentioned, but then again he has school commitments I think.
