Re Cooley.
He is not the only one we've had, as you know.
Do we lack something with regard to communication with the players?
Or is the modern-day player just a prima donna.
I know we are not privy to the goings on but gee it is frustrating.

Lets move in from Cooley and the like. Clean out the dead wood there are some good young players coming through.

DD the Simpson injury was mentioned by Barra on his podcast and also by John Townsend this morning on Sport FM.

Thanks MrA. I had heard he was injury prone before he got here along with concussion history. That's why they don't play him in the middle. Disappointing but gee he is a class act. A lot of clubs were chasing him I was told. Good mates with CC.

Yes he’s a top person and player. Unfortunately his body hasn’t been able to hold up. If it was able to, I think he’d still be at the Cats. 

Gray, Howard, Murray, Quartermaine, Scoble and Shannon come into the 26 with Simpson and Edwards the outs.

So much for a hamstring strain... Simpson out for the season. With him and Cooley out, our depth may be tested again. The Cooley situation is weird. You would think that Tayls and Constable and other senior players would have spoken to him, and told him to carve up in the reserves and get his spot back. I rate him -  a 192cm high possession mid is always worth having on hand - but his form dropped badly after his 40 possession effort v EP. 

Shannon comes into the league team, in the starting line up. I'm dubious about that, haas never shown himself to be a league quality player. Gray on extended bench - maybe a tag on Murdock being considered? Hill still in the reserves. Both Scoble and Q named on an extended bench. One of them should play. It is going to be a fine day, so we can go in a bit taller and we need some ruck options with Edwards out. 

Correct Ted we haven't exactly been overburdened with 190+ high possession midfielders.
So, I for one am disappointed, coz they don't grow on trees.

Whilst true we can't afford to have selfish players that get caught holding the ball and giving away silly free kicks and poor disposal efficiency. These things have been a burden of this club for far too long. Maybe he copped a spray from German and didn't like it. Hilly copped an almighty spray from Germo in the EP game and took it on the chin and is unlucky not to be on the extended bench at least. Watson is a player of the future I'd like to see given a go before the season ends. He is 6ft.

Elijah Scoble made the cut. Probably wise.

I agree Watson is a player of the future.
We must nurture his development and make sure he graduates.
