Three positives from the game as I see it.
1. Jack Poole’s debut was good.
2. We ended up above South Fremantle on the ladder.
3. This was surely the lowest point ever so it can only get better from here. Can’t it? Please?

I don't have a link, Mr AFL. Look up the Big Footy site if you want, but there's not much point. It's just a lot of "lol, Perf", and comments about how irrelevant we are and how stubborn we are in not aligning. As a Perth fan, I am dead against alignment and would walk away from the WAFL if it happened, but from the point of view of an objective observer, it makes absolute sense and will continue to until we can prove we have a future as a competitive club. While the colts may give some basis for hope, it will be 2026 at the earliest by the time wee get a reasonable cohort of colts playing consistent footy at league level.

I have been through a lot of disappointment as a Perth fan, but this ranks with the worst of them. Memorable disasters include the loss to SF in (I think) 2012) where we led by 50p at three quarter time. Another was the final game of 2019 where we only had to beat a severely depleted Peel team to make finals. To tie against WCER - a team who, at that stage had lost 19 straight games, and had a % of 30, which I am pretty sure is the worst on record - is inexplicable. If they had a bunch of Eagles come back in, or if it was raining heavily and they slogged out a low scoring win, I might be a bit more sanguine. Yes, we were a bit undermanned, with Clarke and Taylor, among others, missing, but they had all of two league standard players.

I was at that 2012 game. Fremantle oval. Friday night. My mum was having her 1st or 2nd night in the alzhimers home  (still there). We settle her in and rushed off to the game.

We were killing them. Leon Davis showed some magic. Kayler Thompson went down 1st minute of the 4th Q and never played for us again.

Tedesco did all help could at half back - but we were fd.

The longest drive home from a game of footy I have ever had.

I never relax now until the game is beyond complete doubt.

Saying that I wasn't relaxed at 3/4 of that game either.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

I was very relaxed in that 2012 game. And I was equally relaxed before the WCER game. At half time, I was a bit annoyed that we were only 5 goals up, and that we let them score 4 in the second quarter while we kicked 7. At three quarter time, I was livid, but still thought, against a bunch of ammos, they would tire and we would win the last quarter by at least 2-3 goals. Unfortunately, it appears the players and the coach had exactly the same mind set I did, that it would just happen.

Sadly, all this talk of the Perth footy club having "an association" has not been put to bed!
The newspaper article a couple of months ago eluded to this. It sounds very much like big business keeps circling around and just looking for the smallest opening! Hopefully the Perth members stay strong and keep it out. Many people walked away from the Wafl re 2013/14 and the poor attendance figures over the years is also a concern. Would be a disaster to lose more Wafl fans if any Perth supporters pulled the pin.

Perth legend Mitsopolis was pretty emotional on wafl world. He thinks alignment is the last hope. Ultimately a majority of supporters will have to agree with him before it happens. Tough call. The wafl can't afford to lose Perth supporters as WAG says.
