A notice on Lost WAFL has noted the  passing of one of Perth FC great players, Pat Astone.
Very sad news indeed.
He was a much shorter stature ruckman than most of that era..A bit like Bill Dempsey.
I remember watching his do battle many times with Souths.
A better than average player.
Rest in peace Pat.

Played before my time but was a popular bloke around the club and one of the players who stuck with the club and gave a lot after his playing days were over. Sad to see him go upstairs. I'll miss seeing him around the WAFL, but that's life unfortunately.

Sad to hear of Pat Astone's passing away.He was one of my favourite opposition players.Formed that great partnership with Bob Page in that golden era for Perth.Always seemed to play the game fairly and always gave 100%.Condolences to his family, friends and the PFC.

Vale Pat Astone. A much under-rated ruckman. He had a great leap, could palm the ball accurately a good mark and kick.
After retirement he was a great club man and served the club well as a Perth Legend.
RIP Paddy.
