He’s a victim of an injury interrupted preseason. He’s struggled for touch a bit this season and been moved around a bit even playing forward. But you are right, he’s a quality defender and the closest thing we’ve got to a gorilla minder. 

We don't have a league quality team. We have been reasonably competitive for a while, but it was inevitable that we would hit the wall. One feature of our team is that we always have significantly fewer disposals than our opponents. To three quarter time, EF have over 100 disposals more than us. Is that game plan or lack of work rate or both?

9 EF players had 20+ disposals - some over 30. We had 2. 7 of our players had less than 10. No EF player had so few. We play our best full back in the reserves and Marsh kicks 5. I don't know where to start with how deep our problems run. Likely to have a serious player exodus next year - Ainsworth, Fisher, Mayne, Gibba, Smith. Sinkers injury may be career ending. Fraser and Bush only have one year left at best, and J Busher, Coniglio may have had enough. Colts second last, with the worst %. Reserves last. League second last, averaging less than 60 points a game. We are right back where we were in 2014, looking at a total rebuild which will take at least 5 years.

No hunger for the ball. No willingness to run hard. No pressure on opponents. Poor skills. Little or no discipline. No apparent game plan.
If the Board think we are going anywhere they are dreaming.
We are so far off the pace it is a joke.
 

If there’s one team you don’t want to hit the wall against its EF, who can score heavily if allowed to. Weren’t many bright spots for Perth today.

And our 2s have struggled and we won that easily as well.

And the WAFC continues to stand by and do nothing but tinker on the fringes of our zones. No meaningful change.

This game and the one against EP in round 2 are a true reflection of where we are at. We've done a good job of wall papering over the cracks in most other games.

We need a new football manager who will target quality recruits and instead of trying to find diamonds in the rough.
