The season is nearly here and I for one am looking forward to it.
There has been a few disappointments in the pre season.
But I think some of the developments are quite positive.
Great confirmation today that Mayne will play.
I always thought he would.
He will add enormously. 
I think we can challenge for finals, not getting carried away just optimistic.
I am particularly interested in the influx of talks.
I am hoping some are prospects.
Come on Saturday. 

We don’t have Smith, Cary Bennell, Giblett or Avery in the league team. Anyone know why? And surely Chapman Jones shouldn’t be in the starting line up. Eagles have a decent team on paper. I can’t see our line up kicking more than 12 goals at best. 

Smith is underdone, Cary suspended I heard, Bennell didn't play last week due to a calf I believe. Gibba didn't play last week but was there. Avery played last week and looked ok.

Good to see Nyika John and Connor Sing get their chance, both played well last week. 6 ex Perth players suiting up for WC.

WCW have 6 ex Perth players listed who in all probability would not be up to it...Levien, Mercer, McCarthy, Hansen, Henderson and Burke. I do not think they are unbeatable. 
I am a little surprised at our list for this game. Five first 22 are missing. Cary suspended and the other 3 injured.
Cannot see Bird at CHB. Surely Hill will line up there. Bird would be better in the forward line.
Good to see AJ and DBW together again. Kicked 4 goals between the last week and were more than a handful in the hitouts.
A welcome home game for Chopper Mayne.
 

Smokey, I’ve been meaning to ask for a long time. HWhy is Mayne called chopper?  A name like that usually goes with an on field thug, but he has always been a very good, clean player.

I am not certain 58 but his father is called Chopper I believe. He is far from being a thug but rather a thorough gentleman and a fine footballer and loyal team player.

I’m afraid the West Coast side named is not the true lineup we will face.
You can add Waterman, Hough, O’Neill and West to that side. Also possibly Petrocelli and Petrevski Seton.
I notice that Clarke is named so I’m sure he will torment us as usual as per his Subiaco days. We are in for a tough afternoon.

Connor West according to the AFL's website is injured but good point Waterman, O'Neill, Hough and Petrevski-Seton will all most likely play today despite not being named in the side or even as emergencies.

Surely they can't do that.

DD, they have named a team of 22 and 4 emergencies. They surely should be locked into that as we would also.
However, we are talking WCE here so nothing would surprise me. If they are allowed to do this it makes the WAFL competition a laughing stock and the WAFC should  step in.
Do not falsely think that WCE will not pull this stunt every week.
Perhaps they are going to claim Covid protocols. Nothing will surprise me,
