Anyone else notice not one mention in The West Australian of the thrilling reserves game on Sunday with a goal just seconds before the final siren to send us into a reserves GF. Now I know reserves matches are never written about but there is ALWAYS the reserves and colts results in the Sport Summary pages right at the top. Nope, nothing.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, this is our first GF in any grade since the colts lost the 2008 GF to Swans. Take notes WAFC.

As opposed to Claremont with teams in every grade. No Dorrington on the commission anymore to try and drive us out of business so what's the excuse for not addressing the corrupted zone allocations now?

Are you guys expecting to play Claremont again? The 2nd semi was only their 2nd loss of the season so you would expect them to bounce back

DD we were in the 2011 ressies GF too. There were a few of us there making a nice racket, but we couldn’t get them over the line. It was still a good experience for this ‘young’ fan who hadn’t seen us get anywhere near one for a fair while

I would say our only chance is if Subiaco or Claremont also has their league side in the GF. Subi are already there and we have to hope Claremont beat South in the league this week if their reserves beat Subi. Otherwise they will be a lot stronger than they were last week and will probably be too good. Those 2 clubs have depth we can only dream of.
Hopefully Eyres can continue his dominance in the ruck like the first 2 finals. It seems a bit strange that Eyres is now the number one ruckman for Panetta even though Reid is in the side. However Reid was preferred to Eyres for the second half of the season at league level. I hope he wasn’t forced to retire by the league coach because going on his form in the last league game and these 2 reserves finals, he certainly isn’t limping to the line like Rogers and Colledge seemed to be.

Certainly agree with you comment regarding C Eyres.... back in the day a ruckman developed his craft over a number of years and reached his peak in his late 20's.  Good that a young bloke gets his chance, but a seasoned vet on the field is always good to have as backup - throw him forward too!

Eyres does seem to be gathering more possessions which was one of his deficiencies.
