Eyres will definitely qualify for reserves finals. I'm glad the club is giving him a farewell league game. I don't know that Colledge and Rogers will qualify for finals - maybe that's why Rogers is playing reserves? Anyway, shame to see them go. It was a shame Rogers played a lot of footy elsewhere, but I don't really blame him as I thought he (and Elari) were treated shabbily by McMahon, playing reserves when they were both clearly league quality players. Eyres has always been a battler, but stayed loyal. My favourite Eyres moment was his late goal to win the match when the Swans runner gave away a 50m penalty by throwing the ball away. Colledge had a couple of excellent seasons, as evidenced by his Butcher Medal, but no surprise he pulled the pin given his injuries this year have meant he hasn't really impacted games.
Time will tell whether others follow. I'd be surprised if Richo plays on - 29 next year and injury prone. Likewise Yeo, 31 next year. Fisher? Busher? Also over 30. Langlands may decide to go home. The move to Perth hasn't worked out at all. He, like so many others, has had recurrent injuries, and hasn't had much impacted when he has played. I have concerns about Gibba. I heard a whisper he had to be talked into playing on a couple of years back. Now, playing in a losing team and suffering injuries, he may decide he's had enough. I am going to be anxiously watching the off season movements.
As for the game itself - 11th loss in a row coming up. No chance of beating a fit, fast and motivated WP on a dry track in perfect conditions. Anything under 50p would be just fine.
