Great to see Nyika John make his debut. He deserves a shot at it.

It does seem to me that Gary Moss has been preparing some foundations from which to launch into the off season.
He has been giving players the chance to show what they bring to the table and sorting out who and what may not figure in his plans for the new season.
There are many changes that must be addressed if we are to move forward, not just next season, but beyond.
There may be no way forward unless we take up the challenges ahead.

It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Only really one major inclusion, Fraser McInness. Have you seen the Peel line up? May as well be wearing purple. Interesting contrast to the Eagles WAFL line up, possibly their weakest of the year, they’ve put their players in cotton wool.

Grey is in as well. He and Fraser will be underdone. I query whether it is worth playing them at all, but I guess if they get injured again they have the whole off season to recover. Taylor, Avery, Coniglio out. As mentioned, a very strong Peel line up at a venue we play poorly at. If we can at least limit the damage this week and next we can avoid the wooden spoon as WCE have shown their usual respect to the WAFL by effectively withdrawing two weeks early, and will therefore lose their last two games.

So what's left for the season? Avoiding the spoon by being slightly less bad than WCE is one. Trying out new players is another, but any chance of success next year will be based around getting our top players fit. Sorry, but Sanderson, Brogan-Henry, John, Steel, Hayward, Martin, Hitchcock, Bird, Browne - players who have been given some league time this year - are not the foundation for a successful team. At best, they might be useful role players supporting the better players. Finally, I'd like to see Eyres get a farewell league game next week. He has always been an average player at best, but very loyal to the club for an extended time and deserves a send off at league level before playing reserves finals.

Yeh my bad, i missed Avery. The 22 has been finalised and Sing comes back in

In: McInnes, Grey, John, Sing
Out: Richardson, Taylor, Coniglio, Avery

As usual there are some terrible outs. The backline cops it this week. Peel by 60

Why is Richo out? Probably our most dangerous forward last week and nearly won us the game.
