Under 17 State Squad named and Perth is the only club in the WAFL that doesn’t have a player in the Squad.
So not one player deemed good enough in our Zones including the Country zones could get in the Squad of 25.
Wow that’s poor.

No wonder our colts get belted in most games.

That'y why there has been a 50 page thread about our zone. But apparently all we need to do is send Marshall Jones and Connor Sing down to a take a few training sessions and there will be a surge of interest from the kids.

Our policy of picking up others teams' fringe players has been much maligned, but we have no choice. Expect next year to see more players in the vein of Hitchcock, Reid, Tombides, La Fontaine, Barns, etc.

30+, the cupboard is bare. Our Colts are getting a hiding each week. Our junior and country zones just are not producing the players in quantity as well as quality.. Sadly our next generation  of players coming to the club are not going to improve our senior squads for the foreseeable future.
We have two players in the u/19s, one from Applecross and one recruited this year from Claremont. Both are good prospects but not Perth developed players. In all likelihood both will be drafted later this year.
And.... the WAFC are still sitting on their hands on the Zone review.
No light at the end of the tunnel. Our chances of recruiting further are hampered by our points cap. Loersch 10 (injury prone), Masten 12 and close to the end, Smith 10 (injury prone) Langlands 10, Coniglio 5, Richo 5, Fisher 3, Grey 10 points
That is 8 players total points 65 points and two of them out for the season.
We need a specialist ruckman, a tall and a small forward to kick goals  and maybe another tall back.
Not sure that we can fill the shopping list.
