All boils down to who had the responsibility to build it and that sounds like Trevor - Perth should drag out the old girl and get her put back together in her rightful place once more bugger them hey
If as has been reported that it is the responsibility of the Eagles to do it, then Perth should send a registered letter to the Eagles and inform them they have 2 weeks to provide a suitable scoreboard.  Failure to do so, Perth will construct a manual scoreboard located on the wing of the second oval.

my sweet bloody oath they should mate - that's what the board should be thinking of right now , can't have a game of footy without scores up surely - that is just a bloody farcial scenario if you want attendances and the like

Watching the stream of the capitulation to Swans on Saturday night did notice they have managed to build a new way out of the ground over on the eastern wing. Seems like not much else has happened though at Lathlain. Rubbish scoreboard and no windsock. Shows where the priorities are - first and foremost make sure you have something decent to file out through .

Of course, in the letter it would be incumbent on Perth to indicate that the necessary access of the heavy machinery would be via the second oval and would also necessitate the closing of an area needed to ensure the OSH requirements are observed for the period required to construct the manual scoreboard.

possibly the Don Trevor Nisbett could hand over the membership money from last season kept - that should provide ample funding to fullfil the requirement
Or the funding they got from their masters in Victoria to build that horrible monstrosity they reside in
Better still hock that grotesque ceiling Eagle in it

What was wrong with the old scoreboard? It was brilliant. A piece of WAFL history since I first started attending WANFL matches.

It still takes one person to operate an old or new board, either manually or digitally.

What is the fascination with electronic scoreboards?
LaH presumably the Eagles objected to a scoreboard on the wing.  Speaking of abominations, how unaesthetic is the Eagles building?
It looks like something out of the Soviet Union.

Which is highly symbolic and appropriate given these scumbags autocratic attitude to football in this state.

Better still, get a few concrete lions out the front of the their shitdump. That’s in keeping with the mafia filth that they are.

42 i did read on here the other day. That the Eagles MCG replica oval.Had a tree canopy removed. That can no longer protect the new scoreboard from the elements, mainly strong Gail force winds. And extensive ground works would be required to support the scoreboard..It looks like West coast threw this problem in the too hard basket.

I would need to concur with you BC.             JT has also been around the WAFL for many years and covers the local cricket scene in the footy off season. There is no doubt the WAFL would be poorer without his reporting.

Should I find a suitable violin concerto to play in the background?  If the Eagles are legally obliged to provide a suitable scoreboard, then they need to get one built.  If they can't do that, then the manual scoreboard located on the wing of the second oval with the suitable footings is the way to go.

I see Ben Wyatt is about to join WCE as a director - maybe he can get them to fulfil their obligations to build a replacement scoreboard at Lathlain.  We can only hope!
