I have been looking around trying to get an idea of what to expect from Loersch when he suits up for us next year. Obviously we heard all his bad points from our shark friends and how they don't need him. But a strong marking tall FWD is someone we need far more than them, hence why we got him over.

Bad points:
played ressies all last season and didn't set the world on fire
poor follow-up pressure / doesn't chase

His stats at league level are interesting though. From the 17 league games he has played, he averages 5 marks a game and 2.4 goals. For context, Logan from his 9 games averaged 4 marks and 2.3 goals. If he really is as immobile as we are lead to believe, you have to assume that the majority of those marks are taken inside 50. Also I'm assuming he was never played as the primary ruckman with Griffen and Strnadica ahead of him (the low hitout count backs this up). Can any EF fans help me fill in the blanks here?

So i'm thinking there could be a bit to be excited about. We know our midfield should be able to get it into him quickly, we just gotta hope that he isn't completely nullified being the primary target. No-one can replace Logan (the guy can cover 15km a game FFS) but he might be able to give us the avenues to goal while the others do the hard running.

I don’t know much about the guy perhaps last season he was at a club he didn’t want to be at hence he probably didn’t put in like he should have.

Satan, I reckon EF fans hoped Loersch would be that goal kicking tall forward that can clunk big pack marks that every club wants when recruited in 2018....showed glimpses in that first year kicking 30 odd goals in an injury riddled season under Wiley.....injured again in 2019 for parts and I think Monaghan had written his tsf ticket by 2020, thus no league games at all, despite EF having goal kicking issues.....is he talented, yeah of course he is....if Moss et al can get his head right and body right a fit and focused Loersch potentially could kick 50 + a year for you guys. Can he ruck?...perhaps chop out for periods, but apparently has the turning circle of the Titanic and very much a defensive liability in terms of forward pressure.....which apparently is what EF coaching team are big into with their game plan. But hey we all know Monaghan is a combative sort in terms of man management, so Moss may be able to tap into the guys potential with a different approach.....in all honesty I would rather have a Loersch type in EF playing squad on the hope he would deliver on his 203cm 100kg paper potential. If the fella can deliver then good luck to Perth, though in all honesty Perth are his 5th club so far....Peel, SF, GCS and EF with little to show for at a senior level....he had success at colts level for SF playing as that over age man child from memory.....more negatives then positives I know, is he a 10 pointer for you guys?...if not then definitely worth a punt, if he is a 10 pointer then he really needs to get his act together sooner rather then later.....because 10 pointers shouldn't be playing reserves footy.

Similar to Freezin, his best is outstanding and his worst is pathetic. The challenge will be getting the best out of him- which Wiley and Monaghan clearly couldn’t do. Never seemed to play much in the ruck. Whether his body can’t cope, I’m not sure. Fitness looked an issue and he’s a confidence player in front of goals. Dominated EP a few years back for 2.6. Worth the punt, for sure. 5th club- this is make it break I’d have thought

50+ is unlikely. Few players manage that in the WAFL now. I'd take 30-40 happily. If his defensive pressure is poor, the other forwards will have to work harder. Loersch will be expected to provide a target, take some marks and bring ball to ground.

On another note, should we be making contact with Stack? In trouble again for another COVID breach. Richmond may say that's the final straw.

Thanks for the perspective, guys. I can see how it could go either way.

Ted, i’m told we’ve actually been in close contact with him since much earlier than that. Let’s hope for his sake his afl career is not derailed this early

I'm concerned that Stack's manager is Peos, who represented Leggett. Together with his client, I thought he was unprofessional and disrespectful through that process, both towards us and the arbitrator. Hope that doesn't lead Peos to steer clients away from PFC.

Loersch sounds a little like he could end up similarly to that SD ruckman we got around 2012. Long name that I can't remember. Was a disappointment. Hope this is not the case.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

See if we can get Andrew McDougall to switch him over to his team. Peos is bad news.
