State Government has pledged $4m towards the development.
Now looks to be going ahead at the end of 2021 season.
Funding commitment appears complete.

DF, was it the state or the federal gov allocating 4 mill? Also to note WC to put in 1 mill - which is nice. Local council to make up the rest. All that good. But i wonder who has not put their hand in their pocket. The State or the Federal Gov. Be great if out of our 1500 solid members we could find 1 mill too.

That $4m came from the State Government.
The Federal Gov had already pledged funds some time ago.
That was the last piece of the puzzle.

Funding now complete as I understand it.
The Feds put in $4m quite sometime ago arranged by the Hon. Member For Swan.

I hope it’s adequate to build at least the equivalent to what Peel has got. I like their facility, I don’t like Claremont’s. Problem is Peel I’m quite certain got a lot more than 9 million. I think it was around 15 million plus. And they not only got money from the Royalties for Regions Brendan Grylls scam but I’m pretty sure the AFL also kicked in.

If anyone can dig up that information and prove me wrong I’m happy to say I got it wrong. Also we are in the start of another construction and mining boom and we know what happens when that happens, prices soar and things get delayed..

I don’t mean to sound negative but it just sounds a little light to me. I mean EF have just announced a 21 million dollar redevelopment and not even sure they are building new facilities.

Maybe because that includes their entire ground whereas our ground redevelopment has already been done. Still it sounds a bit light to me, I mean the demolition and removal of the debris would cost north of half a million alone I would have thought.

I wonder what “include community” will mean? There’s a red herring. Read the fine print please Bob and co.

There won’t be any of that in Lathlain. The perimeter development of Lathlain Park is already complete.

Thanks Grump, so I was right the AFL kicked in half a mill but also note the second last paragraph “ The club and City of Mandurah are still hoping for royalties for regions funding as well that would provide an all of government contribution from Federal, State and Local levels. Bradshaw is looking forward to everything the redevelopment will provide.”

So did they get millions on top or was that the “$700,000 community funding”?
