Both teams looked pretty rusty yesterday which is not surprising. We would look great for ten minutes bursts, move the ball fast and then we'd get slowed down and Peel were really good at just chipping it around and breaking down our defensive structure. The concern for me was as Ted said we got murdered in the air in our backline. Peel didn't go forward much in the second half but when they did they scored. We'd have the ball in our forward line for five minutes and labour to kick a goal and they'd go bang out of the middle straight forward for a mark and goal and we'd be back square again.

We look great up forward when we got the ball in long and quick. Yep Delahunty looked a mile off the pace early but I thought he was really good in the ruck in the last quarter winning some telling knocks. He's got a decent leap on him. Missed an absolute sitter in the third quarter as did Quill running into an open goal in the second.

Nicholas spent three quarters running up and down the boundary line so he may still be a chance for next week.

How many guys did we have playing for the first time in the red & black? McInnes, Delahunty, Grey, Masten, Fisher, Clarke, MacDonald, Quill. That's 9 by my count. Add Hansen and Penny who've not played much, that's 11. Half the side playing pretty much their first match for the club. It might take some time to gel.

Yep, that's a good point. This isn't a season where you've got time for things to come together though.

It wasn't Mcinnes' first game for Perth. He debuted for the club before being drafted by the Eagles.

They would be nuts to drop Fisher

No surprise that Peel got so close, remember they have the Coach of the millenium running things down at Crabstick park.

Good to get the first up win for you guys, hope that creates some momentum and confidence. How important are those big forwards! something we lacked badly yesterday.
