Fantastic result.
With every win so important this season, is a good start to 2020 by Perth.

I couldn’t attend and it sounds like an ugly game of football, but will take the win!! Especially after last years heartbreak down there.

We'll take the win but very unconvincing. A few times we looked like we were getting on top but we couldn't press home the advantage. McInnes outstanding. Agree with Smokey that a few selections were questionable. I don't know Penny did to earn a debut in the first place and he looked completely out of his depth. Dela was poor. Quill and Hansen not great either. Our backline was very disappointing, especially with players of the calibre of Sinclair, Taylor and Giblett - they took a lot of marks inside 50. We'll need to lift significantly to challenge better teams.

Ted surely Lague and 2dads come in next week? Lague looked in good form last week I thought and I'm a 2dads fan.

Does anyone know what's going on with Zac Hill?

Steady on Daz couldn't have been as bad as the AFL standard on Thursday night. Hopefully the standard at Bouganville was better. Looking forward to BH's assessment.

About the same standard actually DD as both were ordinary, not sure why you have talked that game up so much? Was that your first visit to Optus Stadium?
Only difference being the salary caps of $12 million compared to $250k respectively plus double the admission price.

DD, I differ from a lot of Perth fans on this site who seem to believe strongly in two rucks. I will always maintain that we should not play Eyres and DBW together. If we do, it should only be on a fine day. I would only have DBW in next week if Dela or Eyres go out. I do like Lague. I think Richardson and/or Murphy would be a better bet than Quill and Penny. It would be good if the club could keep us updated with injuries. I'd like to know what is wrong with Hill, why hasn't Roe played the scratchies, is BJ injured or just out of favour and how long is Yeo out for?

Meanwhile, I have to eat humble pie over my call to play McInnes in the ruck rather than key forward. His goals today all came from contested marks. Not one player from last year's team would have taken one of those grabs.

TN I thought McInnes won us the game.
Those marks were crucial.
We now have 2 tall forwards that can compete and take a mark.
McDonald was terrific on debut.
Peel scrapped and really are a rabble.
Yes we have to do better.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

I can’t wait until next week to see if we actually have something going on or not.

For mine we need to move the ball a hell of a lot quicker through the midfield. Good pfc teams use the corridor and get it in quick. With McInnes, Loges, and the Sherriff down there we can kick winning scores.

I wouldn’t mess with a winning line up too much. Obviously Penny several miles off it and Nicholas will need replacing.

Lague and ? Anyone crumbing well in 2s. Might as well give HQ a go after tonight...

I like Lennon Marlin, I think he brings something different, unique type of player. Ryan Murphy and Jack Richardson would be in the mix if they are fit and Sam Stubbs was recruited as a forward but happy for him to find his feet first in the two’s.

Maybe Langdon comes in for Delahunty and EP have some big units. Either 2dads comes into share with Eyres or Johnno comes in and Fraser shares rucking duties.

I think our midfield has been weakened this year with the retirement of Clint Jones, Corey Byrne out for the season and now Yeo joins the list. Our midfield needs some grunt and I’m thinking Mitch Browne can provide that. Richard Bourne looked good in the last reserves scratchie if we are searching for pace.

How long is Yeo out for? Grunt is not the problem, we lack flair and pace. Browne will give us neither. We need someone to run and carry and break the lines. Byrne was good at that and will be missed. I think Masten should be given a licence to play that role, and to push forward to kick on goal.
